About Me

"I opted out of fighting the margarita crowd at La Carreta, which was spilling over into the street, to check out Low Country Audio at Spanish Moon, along with the two hippies from the previous evening. This was my second outing with this band and I saw a lot of growth, moving from a mostly instrumental to strong, heavy groove southern rock, with an older gentleman manning the saxophone. At points they sounded like what the Saturday Night Live Band would sound like if they were cool, other times they built up a nice swirling psychedelic miasma of grits-and-gravy sonic bliss. ".....................................(Alex Cook, 225 Magazine )Low Country Audio is a five headed psychedelic beast formed by the collaboration of two sets of longtime musicians and friends. Formerly of Blue Moses, Brentwood and the Area 51 Superfunk Revival, brothers Jake McMains and Will McMains joined forces with Ryan Daigle, Thomas Johnson and Vaughn Daigle, of Blackwater Bliss and The Back Forty, to become the group it is today. Sounds like a lotta noise? Wrong. Sounds like a lotta awesome. LCA is a family affair with two sets of brothers, Jake and Will, on bass and drums who are as tight as you want your daughter to be because they learned how to play together. Ryan and Vaughn Daigle are twins and share an obvious musical connection, and with longtime band member and friend Thomas Johnson's swirling blues licks these three complete a combo thats finger lickin' good. The band began at a party in New Orleans in the spring of 2006. Since then we've been steadily picking up more and more gigs, having more and more fun and finding new ways to integrate our sounds as a five piece trying to make it sound more like a mutant 1 piece. As we enter 2007 we'll be playing 4 times the amount of shows that we've played through this year and can't wait to see what happens and plan on having a hell of a time doin it.So basically we are one big family up there with the common goal of making listeners feel as though rock and roll is alive and well. With little interest in money or fame we strive to keep audiences enveloped audibly in the; pure tranquil jagged sounds that Low-country Audio drives into in their live performances.
