About Me

Youth Leadership in the Arts (YLA) is an after-school youth program that is based out of Casa Latina in Northampton MA. YLA is a youth activist group that has exsisted for over a decade. In this group youth of color from the surrounding area come together to tackle issues in our community. Such as racism, sexism, agism, and homophobia. YLA has a show on our local radio station Valley Free Radio (VFR) 103.3 every other Sarurday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. YLA also airs and works out of Amherst Community Television (ACTV) where youth work together on various video projects. YLA youth attends many conferences, and many of us are also involved with a program called Help Increase the Peace Project (HIPP). If you would like to know more information please contact us..
