i'm a profesional cynic but my hearts not in it

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

like minded individuals who are open minded and tolerant

Music:

It started with my dad playing lots of Beatles and Doors records. 50's-Fats Domino,Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Elivis Presley(premovie Elvis, I guess some movietunes are okay but deffinitely preArmy), Richie Valens (not my Richie) Classic Rock/60's/Folk/Psycedlic-Bob Dylan, The Beatles(but mostly Revolver through The White Album; the greatest album ever anybody wana fight me cause of that), The Doors, Cream, Greatful Dead(some), The Thirteen Floor Elevators, Iron Butterfly, The Moogs, The Band, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath My grandfather was a local radio D.J and he fed my cultural roots from everybody like Jose Alfredo Jimmenz to Ramon Ayalla. When I was in seventh grade in the fall of 1991 I heard the first cords of Smells Like Teen Spirit. That was it I got my first pair of con's and MY music had come. A big split musical from what I could not identify with myself with the hair bands. (except for the metal craze my 5th grade year ie Slayer, Metallica , Megadeath) From the birth of the Grunge genre my music taste exploded into the "Alternative" genre. I like the term Alternative, it lends itself to many types of music. That is to say that different types of music exist with in this one genre of music. Anything from Punk to Industrial to Trip Hop was here via 120 minutes on Sunday nights on MTV(not afraid to say).Alternative ; Seatle-Nirvana, SoundGarden, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains, Industrial-Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Pop Will Eat itself, KMFDM, Coil, Ministry, Punk-Old Skool-Ramones, Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols, Joy Division(somewhere in the middle between new wave and punk),Social Distortion, The Cramps Hardcore- Fear, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, X, New Sckool Punk-Some Rockabilly/pscobilly, Rancid, NoFx, Green Day(sometimes timeofurlifeisnotpunk), MxPx, Fugazi, Propagahdi Other 90's-Smashing Pumkins, Sublime, Blur, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead(i loved the song Creep, The Bends came out put it away apreciated later, Ok Computer changed everything, i saw them on the Amnesiac tour it kicked) Sonic Youth, Weezer(Pinkerton is still the best album, Sunny Day Real Estate, No Doubt (yea I said it) Trip Hop-(Back in the Day I didn't Know it was called this it was just alternative) Bjork, Massive Attack, Tricky, Dj Shadow, Dj Krush, Portishead Nine Inch Nails gave me power. I mean Trent really spoke to me. Then again all I would wear was black and listen to NIN, The Cure and Smashing Pumkins. New Wave/Synth Pop-New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Human Leage, The Cure, The Smiths(some stuff Morrisey by himself gets me pissed, whiner), Gary Newman I got tired of being a depressed teenager and took drugs. L.S.D changed my life, that is to say that music that had previously I had now intrest or attention span for was there. Jazz and Electronic music had a new side to it. John Coltrane and Miles Davis' horns where hipnotic. JAZZ ; Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Reinhard(spelling?), Billy Holiday, Max Roach, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gilespe, Herbie Hancock(spell), to be countinuedJungle music would also take me in a new direction as well. This was music I could feel not hear. I'm not a big fan of the 4 X 4 but I still enjoy house on occasion esspecially the deep stuf. Jungle; Roni Size, Ltj Bukem, ShyFx, Grooverider, Ed Rush and Optical, Kruder and Dorfmister, Aquasky, Peshy, Andy C, Dara, Dom & Roland, Technical itch, Black Sun Empire, Concord Dawn, Dj Hype, Dj Krust, Aphrodite, Panacea, Venetian Snares, Beytah, Soundmurderer, Tabla Beat Science, EZ Rollers, Teebee, John B, LTJ Bukem, Freaky Dust Brothers (Chemical Brothers) Acid Jazz, Downtempo, Ambient, Idm, Expeirmental, Minmalist,-Phillip Glass, Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Orbital, Future Sounds of London, Mouse on Mars, Kraftwerk, Air Big Beat/Breaks/Nu Breaks- Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Plump Turntableism- Grandmaster Theodore, X-cutioners, Dj Qubert, Mix Master Mike, Dj Swamp, The point is it is very hard to pin point something I really dislike. I have learn to love music more than I have to hate it. One of four things or a combination makes music great; a great groove, a great verse chours verse, something that makes feel, or something that makes you think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob MarleyIn the years following the anthem crash late 90's early 2000's. If found myself without rock with only n' intrest intrest in drum n' bass' darker side ie nerofunk n' some techstep and other crazy electronic genres of the idm variety. "the" revolution came with a shit load of "the" bands that can about ie The White Stripes, The Hives, The Rapture, The Vines, dare I say it The Strokes, The Postal Service it was cool n' still is...The Killers, the the The point is that to be continued

Movies:

Kubrick, Hitchcock, and the first 2 Godfathers -------thats a great weekend on the couch
American Beauty(movie sent shivers down my spine), Ghost in the Shell, Spike Jonze, Quintin Tarintino, Robert Rodriguez(sometimes f*xk spy kids), Fincher(fightclub, seven, thefan..) The Lost City of Children(some cool french flick), 12 monkeys, to be continued......

Books:

Kerouac, Ginsberg, (Burroghs)Salinger and Vonnegut ----Americana at its best Sci Fi authors, Orwell, Phillip K. Dick, Bradbury(spell'n),to poetry-Blake,Snodgrass,Lorca, Bukoski(spell'n), Teynson(yea i like the romantic stuff sometimes), Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison(its true i do), Jim Carroll, Saul Williams,
