Hey! Names John B. Smith III. Not very original I know but that's the name they gave me so I'm stuck with it. Any way you can call me Trey or "Trip" as my buds called me when I was in the navy. They both mean the same thing; that I'm the "third."So now that the introductuions are out of the way I will let ya know a little bit about myself. First off as of today, April 15th 2007 I am 28 years old. One year closer to 30 and ugh...you know what, I don't even like thinking about it.So any way I am 28 years old and I am a waiter/bartender and single now for about a year and a half. I am a high school drop out having abtained my G.E.D. and have only two years of college under my belt. Don't let the high school drop out thing fool you though beause I am very well read and the only thing that I really suck at scholastically is math stuff.I am for all intents and purposes in that "finding my self" stage of life. I will admit that it has taken me a long time to actually grow up and get a clue but now it's finally happening. Alot has happened in my life in the last 8 months that has forced thing into perspective.
First of all my mother, father and last remaining grandparent (my moms mom) all died with in an eight month period and also some other relatives and a handfull of friends passed away as well. Oh and my dog got hit by a car and was killed less than a month after my mother and father died. So lately it has really sucked to be me. But in the end I know that there are pleanty of folks out there that has had it alot worse than I have and again that keeps things in perspective.Lately I have been thinking about what I want to do with my life. Sometimes I feel like what's the point of it all and how I have accomplished nil with my life when every one of my siblings have very succesful careers, are married, and own houses. And here I am with nothing to really show for my 28 years of life but empty pockets and a seemingly empty life.So as I have said I have been pondering what to do with my self. I realise that every thing I have tried to do in the past has been out of selfishness and end the end every time I have been unhappy. People always tell you to "go after what you want," or " Embrace your hopes and dreams." I always thought I knew what I wanted. I wanted to have a normal life. I wanted to have the life of my 3 brothers or my sister. Married, kids, my own gaff with the white picket fence, garden, mortgage and all. But alas I have slowly come to the realization that none of that stuff is for me. At least not for the moment. So what am I to do? Well I some how always knew that my calling in life was to help people. Help those in need who maybe aren't able to help them selves or perhaps even aren't willing.So I am really at a point where I am re-thinking things and having to choose a new direction. Where am I gonna go and what am I gonna do? Good question. I don't know but the time will come when I will have to make some choices and give some things up in order to help others. And I hope I am strong enough to do that.
