About Me

i am: anuja first, and foremost. nextly, a corny joke's and a pun's best friend, sarcastic, loyal, reliable, modest, giving, confident, strong (haven't you seen my guns?), a defensive driver, one to speak my mind, a good friend, loud at times or when my team is playing, not a "girly girl", one to keep my word, and value my own and others', not one to take a back seat in my life or use the words "i wish i would have...", and lastly....not a fan of LOL.
i love: to laugh, jokes, to make people laugh, traveling, john woo, football, good movies, karaoke, milk, food, friends & family, the nite time, chilled brewskis, girl scout cookie ice cream, airplanes, trains, the stars, the rain, cats, and huskies.
i have: an awesome family, a plethora of friends but only a handful of awesome/reliable ones, been to india, australia, japan....the east coast...and canada, a BA in cinema studies, a side hobby of photography and filming stuff, been skydiving twice.
i want: to get my skydiving license, to go to greece...and travel more in general, to snowboard more often, to learn how to skateboard, work in the non-news tv/film industry, season tickets for at least one seattle team, to complete my collection of the golden girls series (t-minus season 5), and to learn how to play drums.
i am always up for filming fun stuff, especially documentary type stuff. yea, time is definitely hard to find these days, but if the idea sounds promising i will find it! it's like that. it's also more fun with other folks rather than by writing/shooting/editing by my lonesome. so hit me up, steven speilberg! actually, i'd rather hear from christopher nolan......yeah.

[topic change]
please take a moment to enjoy the trailer for my "latest" creation. and by latest i mean from about a year ago.

more than words. the trailer. checker out.
i can see my feet!
YEAH!

My Interests

"when have you not enjoyed sliding under a man in uniform?"

watching/playing sports, watching/making movies, music, good beer, small concerts, bubble tea, invisa-cards, inter/national travelling, pimping my '07, astronomy, driving with the sunroof open and the heat blasting, karaoking during rush hour traffic, one-liners, puns. and boarding on my NEW BOARD!!

contrary to popular belief, i'm easily amused & highly entertaining.

I'd like to meet:

uhhh your mom

Music:

alternative, rock, power pop, a little rap, a lot of 80's, and a hint of rnb/hip hop/dance/bhangra....just no country. blasphemy!
i love: fountains of wayne, keane, oasis, head automatica, sherwood, interpol, shins, linkin park/fort minor, nada surf, mars volta, finch, jason falkner, 311, treble charger, the used, coldplay, adam richman, jimmy eat world, RATM, tool (dec '07 baby!), coheed & cambria, the starting line....my list is very diverse and changing everyday.

as goes for seattle bands: death cab/postal service, mxpx, modest mouse, the posies, harvey danger, the divorce, vendetta red, PUSA, minus the bear, the pale pacific, fair.

Movies:

how many hours do you have?
fav genres: situational/slap-stick comedy & "good" horror/thriller/action.

comedy, or close to it:

this is spinal tap, supertroopers, a mighty wind, best in show, guffman (and every other micheal mckean/chris guest movie) airplane!, princess bride, zoolander, rat race, harold & kumar, robinhood: men in tights, anything w/ will ferrel (superstar, elf, nite at the roxbury...), most jim carey movies, office space, napolean dynamite, matchstick men, most wes anderson movies etc etc

action/horror/drama etc:

face/off, american history x, saw, 13 ghosts, battle royal, the eye, the ring, lock, stock, & two smokin barrels, the usual suspects, apollo 13, psycho, batman begins.....

some of my fav directors are: john woo, fellini (amarcord, 8 1/2, white sheik, la strada), errol morris & chris nolan

Television:

when the dvd player is not playing an episode from the golden girls series -- espn on the screen...(football, basketball, baseball), arrested development (rip), prison break, scrubs, reno 911!, ali g, the office, how i met your mother, daily show, colbert report, snl(but snl sucks now)...and all those lovely after school 80's shows. sweet valley high. you know what i'm talking about...don't hate.

oh yea. its PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME...PEANUT BUTTER JELLY WITH A BASEBALL BAT!!

Books:

remember BFG? i wonder if that comes in hardback. when i DO read, its stuff like under the banner of heaven (this book is amazing if you haven't read it. its goes in depth about the LDS faith/mormonism etc...fascinating), then there's into thin air and into the wild. my sister introduced me to jon krakaeur and i love his stuff. but let's be honest....i don't read too often.

Heroes:

my grandparents, of which none are alive now. i think of them everyday even though i had a short time or none at all with some, since the distance between seattle & india is kind of far & wide. the way they lived their lives will always amaze me and makes me wish i could do the same. if i was living there now, i'd be rich & famous thanks to my grandad. i love you, man!

steve irwin... :-( i visited his zoo in aussie back in 2003 and it was amazing. i hung out with kangaroos, koalas, and lots of other wildlife...i'll never forget it. crocs rule!

mc hammer....for being able to pull those sweet pants off (no pun intended). well, honestly...for inventing them in the first place! what else would the child - molesting - mr. trull have worn during tennis season?

and of course, gandhi. i'm indian, so hes kind of a part of me. the way elvis is a part of every american .
