About Me

I have really big hands. I much prefer cold/wet weather to hot/humid weather. I'm a picky eater, but I also eat weird stuff, i.e. chili for breakfast, a gardenburger with bacon or a hot dog with mayo and ranch dressing. My first celebrity crush was on D.B. Sweeney after I saw "The Cutting Edge," circa 8th grade. My "oldest" friend is one I've had for 26 years and counting. I call all cats except my own "kitty" and all dogs "puppy." I've mysteriously become a bit germophobic over the past few years. I get a drug-like high when I see people getting pulled over on 520 West for illegally driving in the carpool lane (I've been carpooling daily -- and legally -- since fall of '04). I love mugging for cameras. I have three mp3 players. I love fleece. My dad's first name is my middle name, and his name means charming, so "charming" is literally my middle name. I love football (don't bring up Superbowl 2006).

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Er... other witty, smart, funny, nice people? Oh, and if you knew before I mentioned it that the line above should be "Whom I'd Like to Meet" -- two-handed snaps to you. Get some copy editors, MySpace! (Yes, I'm a grammar nerd. I love semicolons, put the proper punctuation inside quotation marks and snicker at people who do things like type "definately" or answer the phone with "This is her." We all have our quirks, right.)If we're referring to men, well, I like 'em tall and skinny. And I have a thing for hands -- they gotta be at least as big as mine, or else it's just weird. Just someone who's intelligent and educated (but not in the "let's talk about the upcoming local primary election" sense), funny, kind, outgoing and takes even worse crazy photos than I do (good luck). And finally, you should NOT be a Man-Boy (for more on this phenomenon, and to add to the debate, click here ).

The (more) modern way to check someone out

Not sure if it's just me, but recently I've developed this habit where if I meet an interesting/attractive person and find out their first and last name, the first thing I do when I get home is look t...

I love my job

I know, it's weird, but I'm one of those people who truly and honestly loves what I do and my job, so I just have to take a quick sec to, well, share my happiness about some of the perks th...

The 'Happy Table'

I couldn't help snickering when I saw this table outside the cafeteria at my work. I had to grab my camera and snap a pic. My friend/co-worker Eric came up with the great name of "The Happy Table." No...

MySpacers: "Keep it Simple, Stupid!"

Came across this hilarious article on the nuttiness of MySpace pages. A great quote on the consequence of the introduction of MySpace: "In one fell swoop, Web design was pushed back a decade." Ha! It...

Poouja and Anujan

I'm sure those of you whom I hang out with on a regular basis are amused by how when we're asked to give a name for a table reservation or something, I always try to give someone else's. That's becaus...

Packing, moving, cleaning, working.. UGH!

Well, it's been a long absence, dear readers. Life has been nutty lately as I've just bought property (in north Seattle, just a few miles from where I currently live) and have spent the past month and...

Hot gals and not-as-hot guys

Have you noticed how much more prevalent it seems to be for a rather average-looking man to be with an attractive woman? I was pondering this last night as I tried to sleep. It happens a lot on TV sho...

"So You Think You Can Dance" -- I met BENJI!

People.. time for a deep, dark revelation. This year, I watched the TV dance competition "So You Think You Can Dance" in its entirety. Though all the dancers are really young (18-23 years old), I defi...

Weirdness

This morning, I put in my right contact. I thought it was in properly, but when I picked up the case of the lens to toss it in the trash (I have daily disposables), there on my right-index finger...

Attack of the Man-Boys!! (Sit down, it's a long rant)

Okay. So last night, while I tried in vain to sleep (after an unwise decision to have a caffienated drink with dinner) I started thinking about how, as I get older, I seem to run into more and more Ma...
