Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana. She has a younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears who is the star of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101". She also has a brother, Bryan.She began singing and performing at a very early age and appeared on the TV show Star Search at age 8.In 1993 and 1994, she appeared on Disney's The New Mickey Mouse Show.In 1998, she released her debut song "...Baby One More Time". She followed up with her debut album of the same name the following year. It shot up to number one on the Billboard charts. She received two Grammy nominations for this album - Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for "Baby One More Time")Her next album, released in May 2000, "Oops!... I Did It Again" was another smash. She received another two Grammy nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Vocal Performance.In November of 2001, she tried to shed some of her innocence with her next album, "Britney", and videos showing an older and sexier Britney. The Britney album gave her two more Grammy nominations for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for "Overprotected) and Pest Pop Album (for "Britney"). Once again a Grammy was not in her stars.Her movie debut came in 2002, with her role in Crossroads. Even though her movie career did not start out well, she always has her music. In 2003, her next album "In the Zone" was another chart topping success.She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November of 2003.She was briefly married in January 2004 (approximately 2 1/2 days) to childhood friend Jason Alexander.In November 2004 she released the "Greatest Hits: My Perogative" album, and just like everything else, it has done very well in sales.She got married to Kevin Federline in September 2004, which at first seemed only to be a media stunt, but was for real. She later said that it was her who proposed to Federline.In February 2005, she won her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording (for "Toxic") from the album "In The Zone".In April 2005 she announced that she was pregnant and having her first baby. The baby, Sean Preston, was born September 14, 2005. Federline already has two children with actress Shar Jackson, Kori and Kaleb.She has her own line of perfume called "Curious" that she began selling in September 2004 and has sold millions of dollars worth of merchandise since its launch. She followed this up with a new fragrance called "Fantasy" that hit the shelves in September 2005.2005 was a busy year for Britney. She let the cameras follow her around in her own reality TV show titled "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic", which mostly showed home videos taken by herself and Federline.Britney confirmed in May, on the David Letterman Show, that she is expecting another child.
