I have dark designs to save the world, but in the meantime I'm just keeping a low-profile as a grad student again. This summer I'm in Geneva working for the United Nations Environment Programme. On the side, I do a little consulting on climate change policy. I'll be back in Berkeley (California) to finish my degree in the fall, so if you're want to make mirth in Switzerland or the Bay area sometime soon, let me know.
To shed some light on me, some vignettes would probably be best:
*On my birthday a couple years back I located in the woods an abandoned train tunnel dug out under Afton Mountain by slaves and Irishmen in the 1840s. That evening, I led a group of friends past the enormous icicles and into the tunnel to party late, late into the night with countless candles lining the walls, loud music, plenty of booze, birthday cake, and of course, bottle rockets.
*I once attended a ceremony at a voodoo temple in a slum in Port-au-Prince late one Christmas night. When I left not long before dawn, two guys tried to knife me, but I escaped and managed to bring home a lot of nifty Haitian art I bought from a voodoo priest who made coffins during the day.
*While teaching social studies and photography at a middle school for gifted kids, I announced that the school was initiating a Two Dumps per Flush policy during the city's water shortage--unfortunately, they believed me.
*After performing the most ridiculous "service" you could imagine in my living room, I convinced the Commonwealth of Virginia that I was a practicing preacher and later conducted a legally binding wedding. The old man who lived below me threatened to call the police during the "service".
