Bio note:
Universe217 were formed back in 2005 in Athens, Greece, as a quartet
(guitar, bass, drums and female vocals).
Their music can be described as down tempo rock.
Their performances are frequent and usually combined with video
projections & perfomance artists.
They've signed a contract with Duplicate records to release their debut cd.
U217 like to have a "hands on" attitude when it comes to their award
acclaimed videos & artwork which are made by them.
Even recording and mixing sessions are done by them.
Done so far :
2005 : Artwork for their first demo won 3rd award in the
biggest comic competition in Greece ran by the "Eleftherotipia"
newspaper.
2006 : "changing1/3" video clip won the first award
in the "mad4video" competition of the only music channel broadcasting
in Greece, MadTv.
2006 : "Changing 1/3" video was part of many video art events,
including the 2nd "video art festival", "BigBang", "ZeroFestival".
2006 : Award for best experimental movie for "In Your Head" at "1st
Panorama of Cinematography of Patra".
2007 : Universe217 perform live in "mmd festival", alongside with
manowar, rhapsody, tiamat & epica.
2007 : "I Don't Give a Damn" video is included in "Switch on/ Switch
off" art exhibition at a local gallery.
2007 : "Pop & Rock" music magazine releases a dvd with greek bands,
and U217 are included with a video commentary and clip.
2007 : "+design" graphic arts magazine includes parts of the debut
cd's artwork.
