the soft fall

The Soft Fall has gone through som major changes since we've entered 2008. Starting out as a solo project back in 2003, the soft fall released the two albums "morning music" (2004) and "lost popular music" (2005). As sessions for the third album started in late 2005, Melbye hooked up with a number of musicians to get a live act together by the time the album would be wrapped up in 2006. Problems occurred however, and no album was released in 06. Melbye's dissatisfaction with the way the new material sounded would push the album another 2 years. More than 30 songs were demoed and tried out in different tempoes and keys to perfect the sound of the as yet untitled album. By early 2008 the release of the album seems closer, but since the new 4 piece version of the band has focused on rehersals for forthcoming concerts, the new material might have to wait a bit longer. the 2008 Soft Fall concerts will contain songs from Melbye's entire back catalogue, dating back to 1993. 2 new demos from the album session are now out on this page.
