About Me


Liquid Fire play a new form of New Metal, combining new metal with rock elements, classical music (strings, grand piano etc.) and modern samples.
It all started off in fall 2004. The whole idea was formed by the music-loving vocalist, Erik L. Staxrud, who had a weakness for bands like Linkin Park, Mudvayne, P.O.D etc. His musical friends Morten Finsberg (bass) and Eirik U. Hansen (guitar) got interested and joined.
At the beginning the band consisted of two guitar players, but the second guitarist had to leave in May 2005 due to disagreements within the band. Earlier that year the band had to replace their drummer with the musical genius George Nipen. During the first six months, the band mainly played straight rock and metal cover songs. But they soon realized the band was missing something. They wanted to take the band to the next level.
The pianist and sampler Per Olav Lundamo joined, and the band was complete. At the same time, Erik and George started to compose own songs.
In the following year, they recorded a three-track-demo and made over 80 songs. After a few live shows they’ve become more secure on the stage and have played with some of Norway’s biggest artists. The first demo was made mainly to get gigs and now they’re soon starting to record their second demo which will be a part of their final EP.
When recording the next demo, they also brought in a new guitar player, Thomas Walle Hansen. He has brought a new dimension into the band and all the boys are really looking forward to working with Thomas.
In late June the band successfully finished the first of eight songs of the upcoming EP "The Dream". Enjoy listening to "Home" here at MySpace!
