About Me

i'm a grad student at columbia. just trying to explore and enjoy myself in nyc as much as i can, especially now that i've got a break from grad school. every day is going to be a different experience.

My Interests

guitar, education, going out to good bars with irish names, baseball, college basketball and football, beer, pool, experiencing life, making fun of the village and NYU, going out to good bars with non-irish names...

I'd like to meet:

people with interesting thoughts, and who like to share those thoughts over drunken nights of debauchery. i'd like to know more people who are willing to put work aside and go out spontaneously, because it's usually worth it.

Music:

mr. jimi hendrix, springsteen, dave matthews, tupac, rage against the machine, sublime, kanye, tom petty, KRS-one, jamiroquai, pearl jam, radiohead, michael franti, rolling stones, janis joplin, les claypool and the fearless flying frog brigade and many many more and i will admit...i am (sometimes) a closet john mayer/counting crows fan. i just read this, and it's a weird fuckin list

Movies:

shawshank redemption, indiana jones, dish dogs, high fidelity, pulp fiction, waking life, grosse point blank, wedding crashers, waiting, PCU and anything else jeremy piven is in...and if you have ever heard/seen of BARAKA, then i should probably meet you immediately.

Television:

entourage, SOUTH PARK, daily show...and i was recently just reminded of the Upright Citizens Brigade...damn that was a good show. College Football/basketball, baseball and cspan/cspan2 for when i really feel like going crazy.

Books:

hearts in alantis, trinity, tortilla flats, savage inequalities, the great gatsby, cannery row, the W.A.S.P., the moon is down, oh the places we will go (by Dr. Seuss).

Heroes:

i have a lot, you'll just have to find out who they are.

My Blog

Life

my first blog is about life, just like everyone after this will be about life.  i'm in a relatively new place experiencing relatively new things.  i've been many places in this country ...
