WHAT I GOT, I PAID FOR.

About Me

Soul SearchingIn the ever-changing world of music and entertainment, true talent can be easily lost. The search for a dedicated, creative and daring vocalist could be long; the process hard. Just when you are tired of the same “hum drum”, you hear a voice that will bring your journey to a screeching halt! The voice you hear will be coming from a female artist who will take soul music to another level. This voice belongs to the best-kept secret in the Midwest, Deanna Michelle Dukes. When people think of Deanna Dukes, they visualize a free-spirited, confident young woman who can give the darkest room a gleam of light. A God –given songbird, Deanna is not a stranger to the stage and her voice is a hypnotizing, melodic weapon. She has thrilled audiences throughout her hometown, Cincinnati. Her unique voice has earned her place as one of the noted entertainers around town and quickly gaining national recognition.Although Deanna is a regular member of Sunday morning church services, unlike many other singers she didn’t grow up singing in the church choirs. She was always the shy little girl who sat on the second row with her Grandmother and studied the techniques of the women with the dynamic voices. Deanna knew she wanted to be just like them. As she reached her teen years, her love for singing and the dream of being an entertainer grew faster. She began performing in local talent showcases and competitions. Deanna quickly confirmed to audiences and competitors alike that she had much to offer and her talent would only grow stronger. And stronger it did. Her voice has allowed her to win numerous competitions including the Cincinnati Soul Idol contest in 2003 and the 2005 Burger King Idol contest held at the Vibe Music Festival in Atlanta Georgia. She has performed on multiple stages at the “Regional Black Family Reunion” sponsored by the National Council of Negroe Women. Opened for national recording artists Floetry and Amerie, 2004 and 2005 Showtime Apollo on Tour finalist and in 2004 DeAnna was chosen out of over 15,000 people to move up in the American Idol 4 auditions in Cleveland. In addition to vocal competitions, Deanna has worked in numerous stage plays such as, “100 Years of Divas in American Music”. She portrayed one of the greatest female jazz artists, Billie Holiday. Currently, Deanna is the female singer for the legendary funk band, Zapp. Who was under the leadership of the late and talented Roger Troutman. This award winning, chart topping group has cranked out hits such as, "Computer Love", "Dance Floor", "More Bounce to the Ounce" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" to name a few.Although primarily a vocalist, Deanna Duke’s talents are not limited to vocal music and theatre. Broadening her horizons, she has expanded her areas of expertise to plus size modeling, songwriting and music production.Deanna plans to contribute her time, talent and dedication to the entertainment industry. By doing this, she is gaining her position as one of the top female entertainers of her time. In addition, she plans to join the ranks of the ever-growing population of plus size supermodels. Sounds Like: No one....just straight soul... a new soul has hit the streets!
What Your Soul Really Looks Like
You are a warm hearted and open minded person. It's easy for you to forgive and forget.

You are not a very grounded person. You prefer dreams to reality. For you, it's all about possibilities.

You believe that people see you as larger than life and important. While this is true, they also think you're a bit full of yourself.

Your near future is all about change, but in very small steps. The end of the journey looks far, but it's much closer than you realize.

For you, love is all about caring and comfort. You couldn't fall in love with someone you didn't trust. Inside the Room of Your Soul
