I enjoy fashion and photography. I am also a closet nerd who watches just as much Learning Channel and National Geographic as I do E! or MTV. I believe in balance in every aspect of my life. Too much of anything is dangerous, but a little bit of everything is HEAVEN!!
Interesting and open minded people that aren't afraid to laugh at themsleves....or others. Ultimately I am interested in confident people who are not afraid to live and love as much as possible!
My mood dictates what's in the CD player at any given moment. I love music that is filled with emotion and passion. I am drawn to strong vocalists. Ballads, musical theatre, well written songs from every genre, powerful drum and bass beats, classical (Tchaikovsky!! Fuck yeah!), cover bands, and even some country. Music taught me we are all basically the same and share the same feelings...it's how we express them that make us unique. I have a deep love for music. Sing like you live...at full volume!
I know I have been long-winded in every other category, but if I try to mention every film I love and why....TRUST ME, you don't have the time. So, I guess I'll start by saying that my favorite movies are the ones that have a slightly twisted point of view. Dark comedy is the BEST! I love to laugh til it hurts. Being gay definitely showed me there are some things you have to laugh through in order to survive. I am also a big ol' baby when I get drawn into a story about love or loss that is honest. OK, a few major recommendations that aren't typically well-known are: Lilies (a canadian gay love story that is nothing short of brilliant), Drop Dead Gorgeous (you'll find yourself laughing from that evil little politically incorrect part of yourself), The House of Yes (see it! trust me!), Daddy's Dyin', Whose Got The Will? (being from a small white trash town in the South may have influenced my hysterical laughter while watching this one), Legend (for those of us who are unafraid to embrace the naive idea of true love conquering all), and Freeway (the cast is unbelievable and it's Oliver Stone's modern day Little Red Riding Hood...imagine an adolescent Reese Witherspoon with the mouth of a sailor and her journey to Grandma's house). p.s.: OWN a copy of the DVD "RENT". We could all learn a lot from those 525, 600 minutes...and the DVD has the story of the writer, Jonathan Larson. The facts surrounding the creation of that brilliant piece of work are staggering. OK! Now you have a pretty good idea of what makes me giggle and what makes me appreciate movies for the way they teach us about who we are in that secret place we sometimes neglect. ------------------ Oh, and here are a few of my favorite things on UTube...Some of them are of Tandi Andrews and were only recently available...I can't believe that thru UTube it's going to be possible for an entire new generation of homos and entertainers to experience a lil' bit of the magic that was...TANDI! ------------------- And no tribute to "The Andrews Girls" would be complete without this amazing video celebrating the spirit of Tandi's daughter, Ariel Andrews. I Love & Miss You, MaMi... -------------------
My television choices are sorta cliche. I love Desperate Housewives, Charmed (I MISS IT!!!), and I am ALL about Nip/Tuck, Weeds, and Dexter.
