Nervous Rex played an eclectic mix of rock, blues, country, and who knows what else you might catch on a particular night, some of which you have never heard before, some of which is quite familiar. Nervous Rex was formed in June of 2004 by rock and jazz musicians of curiously diverse backgrounds, who accidentally formed a band while filling in for a band that had to cancel a gig. One week after formally introducing the members of the band to each other, Nervous Rex played our first gig - and to our own surprise, we were invited back! Soon, we had we earned a house band gig and played at two major local festivals, Sturgis on the River and the River Rockin’ Rib Fest. In subsequent years, we proved that we could repeat by reprising at both festivals. In 2008, we went on hiatus.

------------------------------------David "Vid" James hails from Miami, Florida. After earning his MBA and going to work for a Fortune 500 multinational company, he started looking for something to do to keep him busy in his off time. He started backing other musicians at local open mic nights, and soon had met the talented guys that would eventually lead to the formation of Nervous Rex. For Viddie, being able to play such a variety of music, drawing from many of his diverse interests, is a true dream-come-true. Plus, he is fluent in Spanish, and he has been known to sing a Spanish song or two. He currently also performs with the rulers of local cover band scene, TriPolar Xxxpress; his new project, the Knockoffs; and makes the occasional appearance with the quirk-pop band, The Metro Gnomes.Vid's latest project is V.J.J. Groove, a blues band he formed with former Rex bassist Jerry Heard, and current TriPolar Xxxpress and Metro Gnomes guitarist Jeff VenHorst.
