MISSION

The mission of NYC Midnight Movie Making Madness is to discover a new wave of talented filmmakers and storytellers from around the world and provide them with an outlet for their creativity. Each year, NYC Midnight designs intense competitions to challenge the stamina, determination, and originality of these aspiring filmmakers and screenwriters.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Can you make a movie in 12 hours? Filmmakers across the country will have the chance to take on the challenge as part of the Film Racing 2007 Tour – creating short films from noon to midnight based on a theme and surprise element assignment. The films will screen at local theaters nationwide and online. Not to mention, they will be competing for thousands in cash & prizes.

Film Racing will be visiting cities in 2007 including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland and San Francisco. PAST EVENTS

Animadness 2006 - Teams of animators have 3 weeks to create an original short film based on a theme, character and object assignment. All films are streamed .. and top films wil compete for $10,000 in cash & prizes.

The Midnight Run - Can you make a movie in 24 hours? Started in NYC, coming to cities throughout North America in 2006-07. Filmmakers have 24 hours to create an original short film, from midnight to midnight. Screenings, awards and parties.

The Screenwriter's Challenge - Writers have 1 week to create an original short screenplay based on a genre/subject assignment. Finalists are chosen to compete for thousands of prizes by writing a short screenplay in 24 hours.

Movie Making Madness - Where it all started way back in 2002. Filmmakers have 2 weeks to create an original short film. All films are streamed ... Films created for this event in the past have gone on to screen and win awards in festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, and Cinequest, including winning Triggerstreet's 2003 .. Film Festival.
