Guys still rockin' a moustache and Guys and Gals still rockin' mullets in the 21st century with no sense of irony... Kenny Rogers [to discuss a) his Roasters; b) recording "Islands in the Stream" with Dolly Parton; and c) if he really does know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run]...That guy from PBS that paints the "Happy Trees"... The crazy Bible-thumper from "Trading Spouses" whose eyes look like they're gonna pop out of her head. She's beyond awesome.
Here's a sampling, in no particular order... Foo Fighters, Paramore, Silversun Pickups, Fall Out Boy, Muse, VHS or Beta, John Mayer, Angels & Airwaves, Blink 182, Jamie Cullum (one of the best live performers I've ever seen), Kyle Riabko (that kid blows my mind at how good he is), Foo Fighters, James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, Keane, Amy Winehouse, Patty Griffin, Cartel, Justin Timberlake, Gavin Degraw, George Michael (Listen Without Prejudice, Vol. 1), matchbox twenty/Rob Thomas, The Fray, Green Day, Seal (so damn good live), New Radicals (one of my favorite CDs, too bad they broke up shortly after it came out), Linkin Park (I don't think they're that good on their own, but the production on their records is the best out there right now)
Go, That Thing You Do!, American Beauty, Pulp Fiction, Home Alone (yes, I said Home Alone), Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Mission Impossible, The Bourne Identity, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, Anchorman (2nd FUNNIEST movie EVER), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Science of Sleep, American Beauty, Coyote Ugly (FUNNIEST movie EVER), Knocked Up, Superbad, Hairspray (the musical version), Juno
ANYTHING ON MY TIVO (Best Invention EVER!) and anything on my iPhone (2nd Best Invention EVER!)... Saturday Night Live, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, 30 Rock, Alias (R.I.P.), Daily Show, Arrested Development, The Office (both the BBC and NBC versions), How I Met Your Mother, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Boston Legal (Spader and Shatner are the best comedy team on TV right now), Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Kids in the Hall, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Larry Sanders, It's Garry Shandling's Show, the original Battle of the Network Stars, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Three's Company (an all time favorite, especially the Terri years), The Simpsons, Ugly Betty, Family Guy, Gilmore Girls, Friends, Seinfeld, Cheers (the later seasons when the show was actually funny), The West Wing (the earlier seasons when the show was actually good), Will and Grace, Private Practice, Chuck, Reaper, Eli Stone
Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn (eye-opening), Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill... other than that, I go for the non-boring books turned into non-boring movies so I don't have to read them (I have a short attention span when it comes to reading books).
People that take responsibility for their own lives at all times. Them, and Gary Coleman... bitter as he is, you still wanna pinch his cheeks.
