Sha'n Favors aka Mashanda at an early age knew singing was what she was destined to do. After performing in churches, school plays, and weddings she knew she wanted to change peoples lives through her voice. She can cross cultures and musical genres by blending R&B, hip-hop, gospel and pop. Sha'n is poised for success with a demo of ready-for-radio hits and a stage presence thats been honed for longevity. She has already experienced a little success along the way, and its only a matter of time before the world will see this young diva in the making.
Sha'n experienced her first national television debut on MTV in 2000. The MTV special produced by Lance Bass of NSYNC and judged by Brian McKnight, Pink, and Robin Wiley was an experience to remember. She came in third place. Favors also participated in the VH-1s Born to Diva concert special where she out sang over 800 girls and chosen among the top eight singers.
This southern songbird by far is no stranger to the stage. In her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, while in high school Sha'n performed at Paramounts Carowinds amusement park. She became a main attraction and the rigors of daily performances challenged her but also strengthened her mentally, physically, and vocally. It made me a stronger person, Sha'n notes.
She attended UNC-Greensboro for two years and studied vocal performance. After realizing that she wanted to focus mainly on her gift, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Knowing that Atlanta is the black music mecca, she would then begin to carve her notch into a thriving music community. Since residing in Atlanta she has been writing, arranging, as well as preparing her music to inspire others. Sha'n has sang background for the following artist: Christina Aguilera, Keith Sweat, Monica, Charlie Wilson, Silk, Teddy Riley, Kut Klose, Mariah Carey, Kurt Carr, Stevie Wonder, Anglique Kidjo, Ziggy Marley, Sounds of Blackness, Kim Burrell, and Johnny Kemp.
