I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

advocate, playwright, actor, director, freelance writer, adjunct professor, blah, blah, blah . . . . . .I believe that life is about the good you do, the people you love, the adventures you undertake, and the new things you learn. As for doing good - I'm a Legal Aid attorney helping to give a voice to good people who aren't often heard. And, as for the people I love - I'm blessed with an amazing family and a group of wonderful friends. My baby Joey is my true love and is handsome, kind, creative, and damn funny. My favorite sound in the world is Joey laughing. My fiance Jason is the perfect blend of badboy/goofball and every minute I am away from him is spent missing him.As for adventure and learning new things - I'm a photographer/writer for a number of entertainment publications and websites. I'm backstage and in the photographer's pit at concerts regularly. I am LOVING being in the pit with the other photographers and it is such a rush when you get the perfect shot. And, I'm such a fan that sometimes I forget I'm there to do a job and stick up the devil/love fingers and scream "WHOOAAA!!!!"Also, I've written several plays that have been produced and performed on stage. My most recent 'The Adventures of the Alligator Boy' based on the true romance of Emmitt & Percilla Bejano was produced in August 07 and the cast and crew were so damn talented and amazing that I watched in rapt attention every night of the run. Also, while I've given up on learning to play the drums (too hard - not coordinated enough!!), I just got an electric guitar & i'll be a rockstar (or at least be able to do scales) in no time flat! I can do tarot card readings - no, it's not creepy, actually it's cool as hell and you connect with the people you read for in a really interesting way. The connection truly startles me cuz I just started reading for giggles.

I'd like to meet:

Jane Austen, Harper Lee, and . . . I've got a mad mad crush on Craig Ferguson . . . and Gerard Butler (Yes, I 'due').. "My dream interviews are Dave King (Flogging Molly), Marilyn Manson, John 5 (formerly of Manson and now with Rob Zombie), and Tim Skold (Manson). My very first interview was John 5 who is the maddest shredder EVER. He was a DOLL and very patient with me. If you want to hear AMAZING guitar work get ANY of his solo CDs. I've also interviewed Dave King who was super cool. I've not YET interviewed Manson nor Tim Skold. I've always thought Skold was dreamy but . . . um . . . i recently saw him backstage at a manson/slayer show and . . . he looked a little like larvae in the light . . . handsome still . . . but a bit translucent . . . so my attraction to him is purely musical - he's so amazing to watch and sooooo talented - he writes, produces, is damn handy with the bass and percussion and is now playing lead guitar for Mason and has some WICKED solos in the current show. And, don't even get me started on a man who jams on the upright bass . . . 'specially while looking alot like a gothic lolita gone very very bad . . . fuck me swingin' rockstar!!JOHN 5 photo by Chris Armold

Music:

Although I prefer alternative - i.e. Disturbed, Linkin Park, Cold, My Chemical Romance, etc - my taste in music is actually rather eclectic. I've been known to go from Marilyn Manson to Mozart!

You are Strength

Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.

This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.

The Adventures of the Alligator Boy

I'm not generally one to toot my own horn. I'm not big on boasting about my accomplishments or interests. My fiancé's theory is that my self-imposed containment makes me appear a bit stand-offish. The...

Apparently, music is some sort of weapon. I'm not entirely sure what it's a weapon against . . .  maybe boredom, stupidity, rickets, or the common cold . . . I don't know. But, I do know that, re...
