The Groove

Combining electronic sounds with guitars.

About Me

Long time collaborators Nick Thompson and Danny Doogan are taking things to a new level with The Groove. Tastefully combining programmed elements with live instrumentation, they are creating modern, soulful music with bollocks, a sound that instantly stands out in the current bland scene. Observers are starting to take take notice too, one of which, XFM's Clint Boon has described The Groove as 'One of the most diverse unsigned artists I've ever heard'. High praise indeed on the strength of only 3 demos, more ground breaking material can only lead to similar endorsements. The seeds of The Groove where sown as far back as their schooldays. Inspired by the early 90's Manchester scene, Nick and Danny knew that music was their creative calling. First honing their skills as instrumentalists, the lads had realised the restraints of a guitar band format by their early twenties. Due to an ever expanding record collection and increasingly diverse influences, The Groove are now perfecting the electronic side of their composition. This seamlessly complements the organic elements they have always had as their foundation.
