~~~~~~~~~~~~~~DJ Bounce's Biography~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They call him Bounce for one reason... Its what he make the crowd do...
At the age of 15, Bounce began his DJ career as a mobile DJ playing at numerous parties and events throughout Perth, Western Australia. Specialising in HipHop, Bounce did an average of one house party per week during his highschool years, and increasingly became known throughout the under-age scene. Due to his ability to rock any crowd, Bounce landed his first residency at the Leederville at the age of 17.
In 2004, Bounce caught the attention of veteran DJ Slick, who invited the rising crowd-rocker to play a guest spot at The Base Lounge Bar in Northbridge. That one guest spot saw Bounce become a regular guest DJ at The Base (playing alongside residents Slick and Kyte Kutter) and also assured Bounce a prime-time set at Rise's "Bashment Party" (being added to the line-up of some of Perth's most prominent Hiphop and RnB DJs).
By 2005, Bounce had firmly established himself as the young rookie to look out for as he became a resident DJ for "Funkdafied" @ Base, and was invited to become a resident DJ at the popular "Smooth" @ The Ruby Room, Burswood. While working at "Smooth", Bounce played at Perth's Biggest Long Weekend Party "The Player's Ball" and also performed at a number of concerts and afterparties at the venue, including Joe, Next and Boyz 2 Men. It was also here that Bounce met his partner in crime Big Steve.
In 2006, The Big Bounce Squad bring to you "SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY" (Australia's first and official radio show dedicated to the dirty south and crunk music) every Sunday Night from 9pm to 11pm on Groove 101.7fm. You can also catch the squad rocking Zone 5 @ the Deen (Perth's Premier Entertainment Complex) from 10pm every Friday Night- ending the week’s grind with a party like no other!
~~~~~~~~~~~DJ Big Steve Biography~~~~~~~~~~~
Born and bred in the southside of WA, Big Steve's love of hip hop has been around for years, however as far as Dj'ing goes he's only a pup.
A fresh face on the scene, Big Steve has been spinnin for only a few years now. Touching his first set of decks in 2002. Big Steve has moved up the ranks pretty quick. Initially it was as a Sole City regular that Big Steve first became equainted with his love of dj'ing. Through old frend Dj Adroc, Big Steve was introduced to local djs such as Don Migi, Sman and Karl Blue.
Over the next few years Big Steve's love of dj'ing became evident. You would often find him in the club from the begining of the night till the final track.
It was when the place to be on friday night was the marble bar, that Big Steve first decided he was going to give the whole dj'ing gig a crack.
As Big Steve says " If you are going to do it, do it Big ", so that's exactly what he set out to do. Upon talking to Dj Sman, an apprenticeship was born and for the next few years he was engulfed by the dj'ing lifestyle. Watching, listening and lugging crates of vinyl was the top priority of club life for Big Steve over the next year or so. Then late in 2002, Big Steve was given the opportunity to spin a few records at the ruby room, one that he snatched up and never looked back from and quickly secured a residency.
At the ruby room Big Steve was spinning alongside dj's to the callibre of local legend Dj Birdie, Don Migi, Sman & GerryT.
Over the next few years Big Steve became a regular fixture on major club nights as, "Smooth" Sunday nights at the Ruby Room, and "Uptown Wednesdays" at Margeaux, you could also catch him spinning at all "Players Ball" events. In mid 2005, Dj Bounce was added to the Ruby Room lineup and a new found party rockin partner was spotted, often spinning on 4 decks with Dj Bounce, the two Dj's styles were evidently very similar and they quickly became a force to be reckoned with. Big Steve also caught the chance to spin on tours such as, Boys II Men , Next, Joe, Montell Jordan, De la Soul, Bone Thug and Harmony, Cypress Hill, Kci & JoJo, and Dj Rectangle.
In Feburary 2005, the opportunity was presented to start a new friday night upstairs at the Deen (Perths premier entertainment complex), with collegue GerryT, one that Big Steve quickly snatched up.
Now in 2006, Big Steve can be found making crowds jump every friday night at the Deen, as well as rocking crowds at various other guest spots around Perth. Once again tagging up with partner Dj Bounce assures that the Deen is definatly the place to be on a Friday night. As for the Big Bounce Squad, in 2006 they are setting their sights firmly on being the number one party rockin crew in town.
Remember the Name...... It's Big Bounce Squad!!!
