Is He safe?...no He isn't safe, but He is good--from the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

About Me

About me...well...I am a simple girl with complex thoughts. I love to laugh and people love to laugh at me. I'm tough, but I'm the biggest sap I know. I'm a planner with an adventurous spirit...and an adventure it has been too. I was born and raised in Ohio, but headed off to the Smokies to attend Bible College in Tennessee and I have been trying to follow God's lead ever since. I've moved around a lot serving in different ministries. God led me to the Charlotte area about 2 years ago and blessed me with an amazing opportunity to serve at another church plant. I am now the Director of Children's Ministries at my church in Charlotte. My full time jobs (and yes I said jobs plural) are Residential Coordinator at a Christian maternity home that ministers to pregnant teens and I also teach Pre-K in Davidson. I live with my friend Becca that recently bought a house and with all of our amazing friends our home is always full. My life is also very full right now, but with all things that I love dearly. The most important thing to me though is my faith. I am so thankful to God for the amazing blessings He has given me...so I in turn give my life back to Him.Thanks for visiting my site...and have a fabulous day :)

My Interests

I love anything involving the outdoors...hiking...camping... frisbee on a Sunday afternoon with friends and even an occasional kick to the shin in soccer!!! I also like to read...cook...run...and late night conversations. I love watching sporting events...put me at a live sporting event and I'm a happy girl. I especially love football...I am a Titans fan at heart (been a fan since they were the Oilers), but I also root for the Steelers...and I'll root for the Panthers as long as they are not playing one of my teams :) I honestly love just about anything as long as I'm doing it with friends.

I'd like to meet:

I love meeting all kinds of people...I love people that are different than myself...I love their stories...and everyone has one...but the people that I generally spend the most time around...the people I call my friends...are genuine...they desire to better themselves and they better me...they have depth, but know how to laugh...they have thick skin, but are full of compassion. These are the people that I not only spend my time with, but I walk with...on this journey...journey of Truth seeking...journey of life...

Music:

I don't listen to a lot of Christian contemporary music, but I do like Jeremy Camp, Bebo Norman, Andrew Peterson, Derek Webb and a few others. I had lunch with Rich Mullins the summer before he died...truly the most humble man I've ever met...I miss his solid lyrics. I also like Crowder's worship music.Let's see...James Taylor, Jack Johnson, John Mayer and groups like Nickel Creek, The Fray, Matchbox Twenty, Switchfoot, Weezer, Everclear....this list could go on. Oh and I love the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack...and of course I'm a big fan of U2, but who isn't? I also love listening to up and coming artists.

Movies:

Let's see...some of my favorites are Good Will Hunting, The Shawshank Redemption, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Chronicles of Narnia, and Pride and Prejudice...

Television:

I don't watch a lot of television, but I am addicted to LOST...and the Office (I mean who doesn't love Dwight?!?!)

Books:

I love books that contain substance...I'm not into fluff. Anything by C.S. Lewis...I love the Christian classics...Bonhoeffer...Watchman Nee...Thomas a Kempis. As far as Contemporary Christian literature Phillip Yancey and Donald Miller are probably my favorite authors. I also enjoy Krakauer's books.

Heroes:

...this list could be quite extensive...so let's just say that the Lord placed very instrumental people in my life at just the right times...I'm thankful that they allowed themselves to be used by God in such a beautiful way.
