"Lisbon's Photonz make like a duck on "Trembler," their A-side cut for Paris' disco-not-disco label Dirty. Web-footed, squat and waddling, they roll out a drunken melody over a glassy drone backing that sounds like an 8-bit rendering of Terry Riley hard at work in a metal shop. Where most House and Techno privilege precision, Photonz' wobbly sensibilities are all about the stumble and smear. Even the drum work here feels accidental, all stray hits and untethered backmasks, as the lead synth meanders its way towards a gurgling climax. Paris' Discodeine (Pentile and Pilooski) beef up the beat with insistent hi-hats and handclaps that work like guide ropes for uncertain dancers; otherwise, though, the track remains a wobbly wooden bridge into the foggy unknown. "

"Mutante, também, o novo Photonz. Depois de «Shaboo» na Dissident (de novo em stock, últimas cópias que provavelmente teremos), 2008 é um ano abençoado para os dois portugueses que não seguram um estilo mas têm um monte de ideias boas para mostrar. «Trembler» parece ter dificuldade em seguir um rumo certo, o tema faz lembrar uma personagem num jogo video que tem de ir de A a B e durante o percurso é posta à prova com inúmeros testes vindos de todos os lados. As modulações que ouvimos transformam a música numa questão de segundos para logo a seguir a transformarem outra vez, há muita coisa a acontecer por cima do beat e em vez de se declarar «Trembler» como "estranho", o que devia acontecer era gerar um sorriso na cara pela manifestação de ideias com groove que temos a oportunidade de experimentar. Discodeine (Pilooski e Benjamin Morando) fazem a remistura no lado B, seguram o beat mais em cima, acrescentam vozes, shoegaze e krautrock à equação. Dark & Lovely."
