I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Life takes you to interesting places.
I've come to find I value my time alone, but I like to keep in touch with friends I have all over the country, and some abroad.
The name Deepfog came about when I went to UCSC and signed up for my free email account that all the students get. This doesn't seem like a big deal now, but back in 1993 not a lot of people had email just yet. That was right before the birth of the World Wide Web we all take for granted now.
Anyway, at the time, I had also started dj'ing, I bought my first set of turntables, they were belt driven and would skip if anyone on the next block sneezed. I wanted to go "DJ Fog" and tried to get the username "djfog" but the system wouldn't accept it, it had to be longer than 5 characters, so I chose "deepfog" sort of more or less randomly. Did it stick? Well, I made it stick.
Anyway, I'm interested in any kind of art and music that has good taste and generally is not mainstream. Some of my favorite music you can't even find on the internet.

My Interests

Music, Writing, Computers, The Web, The Technical Side of Filmmaking, Special Effect, Mark 2 Volkswagens!
Oh, my Mark 4 is pretty sweet too.

I'd like to meet:

People that believe in a better tomorrow and are willing to take actual steps to make it happen.
Now what does that mean, really? Well, here's one thing ...
If you're easily offended, I'm probably not compatible with you!
All right, with that said, I'd like to meet more people that are interested in a better tomorrow not just for themselves, but for their friends, family, and the world at large. And that's a tall order with all the wars we have going on. We have a war on drugs, a war on poverty, a war on terrorism, a war on terrorism, oh, I already mentioned we have a war on terrorism, right? But I've found the more we focus on fighting against the things we don't want, they faster they come. Do you know why that is? That's the secret of life right there and some people know it already and it shows in their lives. Other people attract bad luck and negativity in their lives and I'm ok with meeting people like that as long as you're somewhat aware of it and are working on fixing that. But they say 85 - 90% of families are basically negative thinkers so with that said, it is really no wonder that 1% of the people control 96% of the wealth in the country.
I'd really like to meet more of the other 10% so we can network and help make all of our lives more fun and enriching! Doesn't that sound fun? Maybe you'll become one of those people just by reading this little blurb. Hey, weirder things have happened.

Music:

Let's see, my iTunes library:
6 Inches Short of Hung, AndyW, Beastie Boys, Boomerang Fidget, Beth Orton, Boards of Canada, Camper Van Beethoven, The Cure, Cut Copy, Death Cab for Cutie, Echo and the Bunnymen, Fila Brazilia, Gotan Project, Goudron, Groove Armada, DJ Hak, Jack Johnson, Jeff Storm, Jimmy Edgar, Jack Johnson, Sasha and John Digweed, Sunshine Jones, Dubtribe, Pink Floyd, Rush, Radiohead, Reggie & The Full Effect, Romeo Void, Solvent, The Streets, Thunderball, U2.
In high school and the 5 years past that I listened to mostly Classic Rock. In 1989-90, I largely made the switch to modern rock (Live 105 for you San Francisco types) and in 1991 I went to my first rave at 1015 Folsom when it was a ratty old untrendy club. I'll never forget those days and years that followed after. It's largely dead now, but there are still little collectives that you can go out and still be part of a larger family.
These days, I'm discovering band music again, and I feel and hope that we're coming on a time again where band (I mean rock and acoustic) music becomes more interesting and creates music that will stand the test of time like the best of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and all the other 60's and 70's bands did.
Let's cross our fingers! Our society really needs an infusion of culture right now.

Global Fooling

So one of the things I've decided on conclusively is that I believe the man-made global warming theory is not only inaccurate, it's a scam created by elites that want a global tax on CO2 emissions, ba...

Animal House Weekend

So the bachelor party I hosted this weekend went off pretty nice, though the adult entertainment was a bit rude and pushy. That only lasted an hour anyway. Sunday I cleaned 3 rooms in my 2,000 square ...
