I'd like to meet:
Citizen Cope snd David Sedaris.
Music:
Anything Disco. Jack Johnson, The Beatles, Manu Chao, Elvis Costello, REM, The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, The Monkees, and Madonna. There's more, I just can't think of any right now.
Movies:
Napoleon Dynamite, Space Balls, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, The Breakfast Club, Teen Wolf, My Own Private Idaho, Election, Garden State, Reality Bites. I'm going to have to add more later. There's more, I swear.
Television:
All that is Reality TV: Project Runway, Real World, Surreal Life, ..1 single, Blind date, Shipmates, Made, My super sweet sixteen, Black White, Wife Swap, sometimes American Idol.... whatever is on. If watching reality TV is wrong than I don't want to be right.
Books:
"Naked", by David Sedaris---by far his most substantial work. "Nickled and Dimed: On Not Getting by in America" by Barbra Ehrenriech. "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Cadavers"--(I forget the author). "Kite Runner"--by Khaled Hosseini (I think that is how it is spelled). "Beloved"--Toni Morrison. Then of course the classics: "Heart of Darkness"--Joseph Conrad(never gets old). "Crime and Punishment" --the D-man(couldn't put it down). "The Great Gatsby"(who doesn't like this one). "Catcher in the Rye"(holdens my hero). "Madame Bovary" (What a bad-ass). Miscellaneous favorites: Long Days Journey into Night---Eugene O'Neill A Streetcart Named Desire--T. Williams Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf--E. Albee The love song of J. Alfred Prufock--Eliot Ode on a Grecian Urn--Keats Love's Alchemy--Donne "The Beast in the Jungle"--H. James "A Good Man is Hard to Find"--F. O'connor (so twisted) Of course there are others, but if I were trapped on an Island, I would most certainly choose these picks without hesitation.
Heroes:
holden caufield, Super Kraft Mac, David Sedaris, and some other, very important people.
