I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a dreamy chic who loves to laugh... A closet poet who lives for flip-flops and unfiltered bravado... I believe in children, quiet conversations at 3 a.m. and people who dare to believe in things that may never come true. I sometimes think too much and I have a tendency to s t r e t c h the truth... :)

My Interests

I am interested in everything and anything, all at once. I have a particular passion for people and anything that might be remotely musical...

Music:

I love... Barenaked Ladies, Coldplay, John Legend, Sugarland, The Killers, Diane Ward, Ade Peever, Andrea Bocelli, Outkast, Kanye West, Indigo Girls, Zoe Lewis, The Cure and lately, The Frames (soundtrack to Once).

Movies:

Gone with the Wind, Under the Tuscan Sun, Legends of the Fall, Forest Gump, Star Wars (all of them), The Game, most Audrey Hepburn movies, Casablanca and a slew of independent films...

Books:

Anything by... ee cummings, Khalil Gibran, Rumi, Toni Morrison, Rod McKuen, Maya Angelou, Dr. Suess, Shel Silverstein, Pablo Neruda, Yeats...

Heroes:

People who inspire change... people who live "in the moment" and don't think about tomorrow... people who are mercilessly kind...

My Blog

Thank Goodness

Thank goodness. I woke up this morning and actually felt a sense of hope... for myself, my community and my country.  I wonder how it will all play out... I wonder if The Change is really here.....

Debate 2

Wombs

Lately, I have been thinking about wombs.  Merriam Webster suggests that the term is archaic and defines the term as a uterus.  I used to think about vaginas a lot.  Now,...
