Act of Vengeance is just what the name suggests: a brutal, no-holds-barred tour-de-force, comprised of members from the hoods of Winthrop Harbor, Beach Park, and Round Lake Illinois! From our humble beginnings straight up through the present, Act of Vengeance has been writing unique material, reminiscent of past legends, yet refreshing devoid of prefabricated, overused styles that so many bands have succombed to. We take pride in our work and continue to play our hearts out for the ones that really matter: our fans. But how did Act of Vengeance come to be? It all started in the summer of 2005 when vocalist Jimmy Harnden, then-bassist Nathan Swanson, and guitarist Reid Stuck decided that they needed to make their mark on the hardcore scene of Lake County. Despite several lineup changes (3 drummers, 2 bassists, and 1 guitarist), differing musical directions, and the ever-changing schedules of the members, Act of Vengeance has retained the musicians most dedicated to the music, and has thus developed a pure, true-to-their-roots sound. We have prided ourselves on bringing forth a blend of searing metal and hardcore, along with elements of thrash and death metal, and will continue to provide eager audiences with a high intensity, high energy show. And of course (most importantly), we're easy-going guys who just wanna have fun doing what we love, and we have the desire to meet all the people who continue to support us and make us who they are!
