i'm kind of obsessed with designing and building loudspeaker cabinets, then taking them out into muddy fields/scutty clubs and making vast amounts of noise with them. i go camping once a month, being a staff member and storeman for an educational charity, but i'm into tents generally. physics is my only god and i am a devout fan of engineering technology... mmm... machines...
people who share my love of horn loaded sound reinforcement systems and music with a repetative beat, generally nice folks and a mardy hippy wife.
electronic dance music and prog rock. there's a bit more to it than that, but that's a brief synopsis of the plot. i usually dj electronica, psy trance, breaks or folk rock. currently tripping off the 1969 album "an electric storm" by "the white noise"... best thing i've heard in years!
orlando, the adventures of robin hood (1938, flynn, de havilland, rathbone, rains et al) raiders of the lost ark, star wars, mall rats, repo man, dazed and confused...
i am proud to say that i do not have a television set. i get to see a bit of it around my friends' houses, it sucks me in and i find myself unable to hold conversations with other people in the room. whilst this is my weakness, i can't abide with such ignorant behaviour so i'd rather do without.
i wish i read more books...
bob flannigan and tom danley spring to mind at present. none of you will have heard of my friend dave monk, but he is someone to look up to. merrick godhaven (although he'd be embarrassed to be considered in such light) is another real life hero, there's an even bigger list of fictional ones. the ultimate of which is of course, number six... "be seeing you!"
