I'm writing a weekly column in the Idaho State Journal about the local live music scene. It's in my blog, I try to post a bulletin when I can, and in print on Wednesdays in the A-section. Keep an eye our for it, and send me a message with suggestions for a topic.
There are many aspects to me and what I do. I teach, I shoot pool, I have a wonderful network of friends, I'm a mom, a sister, a daughter, and I have a passion for music.
I work with several musicians and bands in SE Idaho and No. Utah. It seems to me that this might be a great place to 'get the word out' about how to support local live music.
There is some amazing talent right in our backyards! Whether it's some guy on his acoustic guitar with a deep soulfull voice at a coffee shop, a guitar-driven blues band at the local micro-brew or a 7-piece jazz ensemble at the performing arts center, music is all around. The question is, how to find it!
Let's see what My Space can do about that....
