I sing and compose in the band about:blank. Together with my compadre in arms Martin, we aim to create electronic music without boundaries. We tend to drift towards the melodic, dark, ambient and aggressive types of music. There is no set genre that we try to fit into, but mix whatever sounds, instruments and ideas that we get into our heads. An aggressive bassline can be accompanied by slow choirs.
We're not signed, and we really don't aim to be. Having total control over the music is too important to let go. I suppose if the right company stepped up I might be swayed, but I haven't seen any like that so far. Instead I plan to pursue the distribution and marketing personally.
I'm a firm believer that artists don't make money from music albums, but the experience given through live concerts and the tangability of merchandise. Thus music should be free for the masses, reserving a small token for production costs.
