The Producer:
A string and woodwind musician since the age of 8, Swift Albero discovered his love for house music in 1995 after the release of The Bucketheads' album "All In The Mind". Over the past decade, Swift Albero has been recognized as a brilliant house music DJ and producer, and has made his own mark on the world of electronic music.
During one of many leisurely unemployed months of 2002, Swift emerged from the studio after the production of his first album "The One EP". His debut was released under his original name, Palmtree, which featured the single 'Doesn't Matter', and the breakdance hit 'New Fantastic'. Among those tracks was Swift's most famous 'Starfish Vs. Submarine' which depicted the underwater clash between man and nature.
Swift Albero collaborated with longtime friend, Phillip A. Peterson at The House of Breaking Glass in 2004, to produce the playful and menacing track 'Wrecking Ball' for the sassy and coquettish Japanese pop-vixen, Mikko Mikko.
In the summer of 2005, Swift was commissioned by local artist Mary Welch of Wayward Girl Productions to produce the 25 minute soundtrack for the art installation "The Constellation Corvus." This project, which opened in Vancouver, British Columbia, was an homage to The Raven. Swift spent some time researching this often misuderstood and unwelcome creature and was inspired to produce the single 'Ascension'. This track is a representation of a spirit which travels to the unknown and returns with a new found knowledge only acquired during total privation.
The track 'Ascension' was remixed in 2006 to include the telemetry and voice recordings from the actual lift-off of NASA's Swift Satellite. This spacecraft was deployed in 2004 as an effort to detect, understand and study the effects of gamma ray bursts throughout the universe.
In early 2007, Swift collaborated with arist Mary Welch for the second time to produce the soundtrack for her interactive art installation "7 Chairs." By walking through a linear labyrinth, one could view seven brilliant sculptures which took Welch just over nine years to complete. Each represented a different chakra; an ancient energy system within the body. In this installation, the participant engaged in a multi sensory experience which incorporated form, light, time and sound.
