Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, after her parents immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam in the 1980s, Mailee (pronounced my-lee), with respect to her Vietnamese culture is a true American teen influenced musically by everyone from the likes of Janet Jackson, to Mariah Carey to Aaliyah and everything else in between.
Even though Hip Hop and Jazz dancing has been her mainstay since she was very young (being a member of dance in St. Louis esteemed, Center of the Creative Arts), people started realizing the double threat she possessed when they began to head her sing during her pre-teen years.
Discovered by St. Louis producer, Chip Vincent of Unimind Music Group, during an open audition for an interracial teen singing group, it was a no brainer that she was destined to be a solo artist and that a group was not going to allow her talents to blossom.
Since singing to Unimind Productions, Mailee has been guided under the musical production of one St. Louis hottest R&B, Hip Hop and Pop producers, Nekjerka!
Her distinctive raspy voice, her bubbly personality and hot tracks will surely make you want to dance and leave you wanting more, which is always a recipe for success.
Not only does Mailee have the talent, the music and drive to be a superstar, but she opens the door to be the first Asian-American popstar. She also provides the opportunity to bridge the musical gap with millions of kids outside the U.S., who will finally be able to see that all music and its artists are truly, global and universal.
