books i've read recently (and rated):LORD OF THE RINGS - i can't hide it anymore. i'm a full fledged science fiction nerd and this is my bible.DUNE - fun.GEORGE ORWELL"S LETTERS AND ESSAYS - interesting to see the similarities between liberal thought in england during WWII and the present.KONTIKI - a book i found in the garbage. about how 6 guys in the 70s sailed a balsa raft from peru to the east indies to prove that peru is where east indians come from. they wrestle sharks a lot!MIDDLESEX - anyone will like this book. a good plane/beach/subway readTHE GOD OF SMALL THINGS - the entire book is a setup to the end which is brilliant. takes place in india and explores the relationship between the western world and old tradition.THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER - the writing is a little juvinile but at the same time so fresh (and so clean). it's about a southern town in the thirties and the lives of four people who befriend a deaf mute guy.
