About Me
"Ms.UndaStood been grippin on that wood grain/I'm tha dame switchin' lanes while i'm riding on main/I reign this domain my missons to maintain/Fuck the fame it's the money that im tryin to proclaim/"
Ever since I was old enough to remember I had a passion to perform. Every family function I was always putting on a show, singing and dancing, to entertain my family members. Growing up in a single parent home in Mo. City wasn’t easy, but I always had to find a way to keep a smile on my face.
How did I get the name Ms.UndaStood? My entire life I always felt that no one understood me. However, in 1997, in 7th grade my English teacher introduced me to poetry. From there, I began to write, expressing thoughts I was unable to verbally put into words. I’ve always felt talented when I had a blank canvas, and was able to fill it with my thoughts, emotions, and pieces of my life to create a master piece. Growing up, all we did was indulge in music created by Houston rappers and screw on the back of the bus, but I loved and often listened to rap by such artists as 2Pac, B.I.G, U.G.K, Z-RO, Lil’ Flip, Master P, Juvenile, Lil’ Wayne, Missy Elliot, Ma$e, Foxy Brown, and other various artist that were hot then……I fell in love with the art of hip-hop. And in 2003, A-1 approached me with an opportunity to rap on a mixtape produced by him and other rappers from the Phoundation. January 2004, Ms.UndaStood was born. Since then I have been writing verses and working on ways to improve my lyrics and my style. Currently, residing in Baton Rouge, I have worked while with various producers and artist in the Baton Rouge area, such as Dee-1, DJ B-Real, YoungHits, “Cash†from The Crayon Box, and Guerilla MegaMixers.
Now, finally, my first mixtape “Playing with Fire Vol. 1†is hitting the streets, exposing lyrical content, passion, and real hip-hop to all those who listen. Spitting that fire like no other MC, the mixtape includes artists such as Dee-1, DJ B-Real, Ashley Patterson, Artist, J-Spear, A-1, and King D. Soon, the mixtape will be burning up the streets near you, so MAKE SURE YOU HIT ME FOR A COPY OF YOUR MIXTAPE!!!! Also if you need a hot 16 or want to book a show from an up and coming female hip-hop artist, such as myself, be sure you hit me up because I am always looking for new endeavors. Please leave comments on my wall and tell me what you think about the mixtape. Also, say tuned from promotions, tour dates, and performances coming to hood near you. Until then, PEACE!!!
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -Marianne Williamson
