About Me

The barber that will say anything out of his mouth, Keevin Muhammad represents Barber Excellence. Born Ke’vin D. Phillips in Holly Springs, Mississippi, he became good with his hands working on his great-grand parent’s farm. Two teenagers frustrated with spending all day in the barbershop, he and his brother started cutting each other’s hair. With three brothers to practice on, there was no cap on the future barber. During high school he fused a passion for drawing and graffiti style graphics with traditional tapering skills, to create his unique style. In this, Keevin views cutting hair as more of an art than a service. Early ’89, he attended Moler Barber College in Aurora and started his professional career in, October 1989. “Phase I Beauty and Barber Salon” gave Mr. Muhammad a start and place to express his talents throughout the 1990’s. Brandishing a host of loyal clients, he sprung into the New Millennium, with a new sense of business and “Yolanda’s House of Beauty” as the new venue to house his genius. In his three-year stay there he regained his passion for the craft that he spent years to develop. Now, after 16 years in this business, 2006 brings still another new location and future at “Whatever It Takes Barber and Beauty Salon” - 1735 N. Farnsworth Ave., Aurora, IL.....................................Here is some samples of his work!
