About Me

Time for an update. Having established myself firmly in the realm of Children's booksellery and being headhunted, nay poached, by the big nasty corporation that is Borders I'm happy to say I'm really enjoying work and life. Still defining myself by my job... Bums. People at new work are spiffing, hence me going on a bit of a profile hunt in the early hours. I'm also very much in love with my lady, the fair Jenny of Fox. I love saying of in front of surnames. The advice giving continues with me recently being christened the Yoda of the Comic Shop. So in short, still gobby, still overweight, still needlessly cheery and optimistic and now finally having life paying off. And I always have a song in my heart :) ..

My Interests

Wrestling, monkeys, roleplaying, golf, comics, knitwear, books (mainly children's), germ warfare, f1, cartography, arguing, contortion, Dr Who (old school), Eastern European weeds and going on trains (It's not as bad as train spotting...) Not all of those are true...

I'd like to meet:

Well I've sort of already met Bret Hart but meeting him in person would be awesome. I'd obviously have Jesus on the list just to compare beards if nothing else. Robert Muchamore so I can congratulate him on being a diamond in the rough of Andy McNab bilge dominated spy fiction. Erm... otherwise it'd be the usual Hitler, Ghandi, Buddah repition. Oh, but I'd love to meet the guys who did the Cosgrove Hall animations. Especially Trap Door and Stoppit and Tidyup

Music:

Novelty. Polyphonic Spree, Tenacious D, Richard Cheese. Anything ot make me giggleAlso anything rocky that has pianos or strings in it. No specific genre or band though my current cds in the stereo are the Divine Comedy, Maximo Park and Ben Folds Five. Also the theme tune to Black Beauty. It's brilliant!

Movies:

The Goonies will always be the pinnacle of western cinema. Also loved and cherished are the original Muppet Movie, Labyrinth, Breakfast Club, Empire Records, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory films. Best film I saw recently was the Prestige .. .. .. ..

Television:

Before work I had to watch Neighbours. Now I get one episode a week :'( I adore the Mighty Boosh, Garth Mahrenghi's Dark Place and Alan Partridge. Also partial to Nathan Barley, anything with Chris Morris involved and classics like Fist of Fun. Non-comedy I sometimes watch Eastenders and Watchdog is always good for a giggle!

Books:

I relent. Good titles include anything by Robert Muchamore. Silverfin by Charlie Higson (Bloodfever isn't as good but the 3rd one released in January will be stonking) Looking For Alaska by John Green. G is for One Gzonk by Tony Diterlizzi. The Black Book of Secrets which isn't published till next year but still is ace... Many others that I can't remember. Oh and Fantastic Mister Fox. Oh yes

Heroes:

Bret Hart. I had lost a lot of respect for him when he did crazy things like the medium and such but have more respect now that he's finally putting the past behind him though. Simply the best wrestler I've ever seen.Geoff Johns. If only I had an ounce of his talent.Steve Coogan. Scandal aside the guy has a genuine comedy streak in him that is unique and exciting. And the big J ought to get a mention.
