Paradise Recording is a full service recording studio for your music and audio needs located in Santa Cruz , California
Beginning with an acoustically designed interior structure, Paradise was built to bring the best out of your music. A large tracking room with variable acoustics and a tuned drum stage has been home for a long and growing list of talented clients.
In the spacious control room, Paradise ’s creative and knowledgeable engineers are at the wheels of the monster Studer A800 MKIII, a 24-track 2-inch analog tape machine to fatten your sound, providing pristine sound and amazing warmth. Almost every major album from the mid 70's to the mid 90's was recorded on a Studer A-800 or one of its derivatives. This machine will give you the album quality sound you want for your project.
For crystal clear audio or a crisp digital sound, Paradise also runs Pro Tools HD with 24 analog inputs and outputs which allow us to record at up to 192kHz . An amazing array of outboard gear follows: Universal Audio 2192 A/D-D/A’s for even better conversion than ProTools ’ A/D’s, the legendary Teletronix LA-2A, a pair of UA 1176’s, high quality Lexicon effects, a UA 8110 which was born for drum tracking, the staple Avalon 737, and more (complete gear list at www.paradiserec.com ), and UAD1 and Waves plugin libraries. In addition, a great selection of top quality mics is available for almost any application, including a Neumann U87, AKG C414, and Royer ribbon mic among many others.
Owner and head engineer Rich Williams has over a decade of recording and hardware design experience as well as a degree in computer engineering, but most importantly has a huge passion for music. With his education, experience, and creativity, Rich never ceases to impress Paradise ’s clients with his technique and attention to detail.
