Dark Porch Theater: Margery Fairchild (artistic director)constant collaborators: (Portland) Jef Brown, Elizabeth Ward, Nathaniel Freemanand Kathleen Keogh (San Francisco) Jesse Lovejoy Baldwin, Chris Kelley, Alexis Perry, Hilde Susan Jaegtnes, Christopher Struett, Felicia Benefield, Ryan Hayes, Chris Carlone, Patrick Simms and No Nude Men Productions.HEN is an original musical written and directed by Margery Fairchild. It debuted at NOHspace in San Francisco in July 2005. Although in line with the musical genre, Hen is a continuation of director Margery Fairchild's project to blend the mediums of dance, original/live musical composition and written verse into a unique theatrical narrative.Dark Porch Theater Presents: UNDER THE BED, debuting in San Francisco in June '07. A play where good and evil struggle for power in the subconscious mind of a comatosed WWII soldier. Music, dance, verse driven dialogue and an original live musical score set this dramady above any musical your likely to see..ever!!! Band Members: UNDER THE BED combines the talents of Margery Fairchild, Christopher P.Kelly, Chris Carlone,Alexis Perry, Hilde Susan Jantgnes, Chris Struett and Patrick Simms. Also performing: Kirstin Broadbear, Nathan Tucker, Kim Chong, Avril Stevenson, Melanie Guzy, HeatherNicole, Marielle Earwood, Harmon Leon, Ethan Clarke and Ann Shisko. With Set and Costume design by Claire Mack, Lighting design by James Tinsley, Prop design by Evan Bee, Bed and Technical construction by Paul Rassmussen, stage/tech assistance by Theresa Shmieder and Barry Jenkins and Theater and house manager Joe Landini.
Influences: Berthold Brecht, Robert Wilson, Phillip Glass, The Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, Pre-World War II german cabaret, Guy Madden,Peter Greenaway, Vivaldi choral music and the French Revolution.
