As a young boy of 15 Dj Switch started mixing records, inspired by his love for music and his father who was a DJ himself. Dj Switch began collecting vinyl records and soon began playing at small house parties. Although the hip-hop scene in Amsterdam wasnt very big yet, he was involved in turntablism. This very much improved his mixing skills which earned him the name DJ Switch.
He is able to adjust his style and choice of music to many different crowd. This makes Switch a DJ who is able to go from one specific style like urban, hip-hop, house to being an eclectic DJ.
DJ Switchs name is very famous in the Amsterdam party scene, he doesnt only play in Dutch clubs, he also plays in different clubs and festivals in foreign countries such as Germany, Swiss, Belgium, Estland, Aruba, Curacao, the USA and more.
In addition he has featured in support acts for big artist like Rah Diggah, Ja-Rule, Red man, Method Man, 50 Cent, Dialated people, Jeru the Damaja, A+, Bizz Markie, Postmen, Rahzel, Corey, Jay Colin, Perry Miss, Cyhper, Merage, Capri, THC, 1106, Opgezwolle, Jawat and many more. He has made music for fashion shows like Karl Kani and Nike.
Currently he is spinning his records in clubs, at parties and festivals. He owns his own DJ school in Breda; Holland and gives weekly workshops at high schools and music schools. Besides DJ-ing he produces music for rap groups and dance groups. He started the first official Dutch mix tape site incorporated with DJ Skillz, named getyatape.com with heavy weight mix tapes. He is also part of a DJ team named Kings. A duo (DJ Switch and DJ turne) is known all over town for creating the nicest musical vibe, as they spin back to back on 4 turntables simultaneously.
