on my SONY VAIO laptop,together with TRACKTOR 3 [Native Instruments] and a small portion of vynils that are just fresh or irreplaceble in the bag and i prefer to hear them out on their original source with their natural cracks and blisses.“ tracktor 3 alows me to relax and just create the sound rhytmic sound patterns and layers i wish, from a DJ perspective and for live playing. I have diferent folders of my own music production, and also very well divided folders has ::: music styles, labels, artists, remixes, promos, voices, speaches, urban sounds, nature, daylife,
synts, rhytms, space, water anyway a amaizing beautifull amount of hours i spend over the years organising my humble music music library, so it alows me to share and express my love and passion for life & electronic music.Most of these files are full-on AIFF or WAV files, this is meant so the sound quality is never lost, and it does increase to a status of excelence when heard on nice soundsystems. I also have [ableton] LIVE on my laptop, and it’s a virtual copy of my small big studio DIGITAL BAOBAB.
If I have a track I’m not happy with, or would just love to tweek it my own way, I can load it in, make some cuts, filters, or just play a different bass line, and create a personal new re:mix — while I’m on a plane or at the hotel.
At the club i will blend it down on my sets by putting it straight into Final Scratch. Before when i wanted to listen to a vynil of myself i would have waited at least 2 monts to get it mastered, like this i can have it in only a few minutes .. So about 70% of what I play at a show hasn’t existed before that show. It’s really fun that way, I can really spice up the sound.
