I'm Tiffany "Kia" young, born in Brooklyn, NY. Since i was younger music has played a special part in my life daily. I can recall waking up early in the morning to the soft, and elegant voice of my great grandmother harmonizing to the sweet sounds of Al Green, Stevie Wonder, and Diana Ross, and then later on in the day hear the vibes and lyrics of Rakim's "Microphone fiend" blasting from my uncles boom box. At the tender age of 6 i began to take interest in this genre of music called hip-hop. I would watch my uncle very carefully; from the time he placed the two-sided instramental tape into the stereo, to the bop of his head( which we now call swagger), to the way he placed words together, and how they coincided with the music, was so amazing to me. I began to imitate this and at the age of 7 wrote what i thought of at the time my first rap. I grew a new found love for performing and writing. but didnt take it seriously until i was 14. Now almost 5 years later recording a demo, writing my own lyrics, doing various talent shows, and everyday working on perfecting my craft. This is without a doubt what i love to do. And taking it to the next level, with the possibility of giving another young girl the inspiration to do the same, would be a dream-fulfilled.
