The Bio:
Started in 2006. Guitarist, Adam Gentile and drummer, Joe Manfe, were starting a new band out of Joe's Garage in the Pelham Pkwy section on the Bronx. Guitarist, Ian Rousso was busy quitting is last band, and was hard at work at school. Adam and Ian crossed paths at a Lagwagon show in New York City, and met while meeting Lag frontman Joey Cape. Ian later started hanging out with Adam and Joe, and started writing a few songs. After spending a few months writing songs, they later came accross bassist, Brendan Tronconi. The band was born under the name, "Drop the Bomb," but would later be changed to Frantic Zero in mid-March of 2007. After spending nearly six months writing extremely fast songs about relationships, the state of society, and beer, the band started playing their first batch of shows around the New York City area. Joey, eventually would end up leaving the band to persue to school and work, and Adam would take over on Drums.
The band has been compared by many to that of Bad Religion, Weezer, NOFX, and No Use for a Name, but refuses to allow themselves to be marginallized into any specific musical category. They constantly play different genres such as metal, ska, pop, indie, and alternative, and quite recently, even covered a Dying Fetus song live.
Frantic Zero has taken a strict stance against mainstream music television of any kind, and has also stood soully on the idea that local music is truelly a sacred thing. Ian, who plays/has played an active role in a few local scenes in and around NYC, believes in the idea that the local scene should come before anything, and is also an extremely vocal critic of local 18+ and 21+ shows.
After spending nearly a year and a half writing, Frantic Zero, is slated to go into the studio during the first few weeks in January to record twelve songs, which will end up being their debute album, and plans to play a huge string of shows around the northeast to promote it.
Note:
This MySpace is run entirely by us (Frantic Zero) and we try to respond to all comments, questions and messages left for us. Unlike an overwelming majority of the bands on MySpace, we try NOT to look at our friends as just a large group of numerical values adding up to some ridiculously high friend count, but instead, as people.
