About Me

God has spoken to me three times in the last 2 1/2 years. Here's what He told me:"***1. If you want to be happy, you will spend the rest of your life training and educating yourself to heal people. That is how you can best love others.***2. If you want to be happy, and if you want to avoid having a life which is a living nightmare of selfishness, lack of compassion, and dissatisfaction, you will stop looking at internet p*rn.***3. You must continue to grow in your ability to have love and compassion for others." Although I am currently a math teacher, I am taking biology and chemistry classes to prepare myself for medical school. I quit looking at p*rn Aug. 29, 2003. I am listening for the Voice of God in the books I read, in the words and actions of people, and in my heart. I am learning from God how to love others.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Albert Schweitzer, Joseph Lister, Leopold Mozart (Wolfgang's daddy!), Soren Kierkegaard (one of my heroes of getting his ass kicked for telling the truth), and the guy that got his ass most kicked for telling the truth: Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis.

Music:

My favorite musical pieces: Beethoven's 9th symphony, Mahler's 3rd symphony, Mozart's 41st symphony, Schubert's 9th symphony, Schumann's cello concerto.........My favorite bands are the Beatles, ELO, Cat Stevens, The Moody Blues, Harry Chapin, Joan Baez, The Smiths/Morrisey, The Cure, Blondie, New Order, ABBA..........I also love music from the Swing Era, especially Glen Miller and Kay Kyser.

Books:

I'd rather read than visit Europe, party, or have sex. Every book I've read is a friend who will never abandon me. My favorites: Brothers Karamozov--Dostoevsky; Ordinary Men--Christopher Browning; On Killing--Lt. Colonel Dave Grossman; In a Different Voice--Carol Gilligan; Christian Discourses--Soren Kierkegaard; The Etiology, Concept, and Prophylaxis of Childbed Fever--Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis; In the Primeval Forest--Albert Schweitzer; The Decay and the Restoration of Civilization--Albert Schweitzer; The Imitation of Christ--Thomas a Kempis; The Harry Potter series--J. K. Rowling; People of the Lie--M. Scott Peck; Franny and Zoey--J. D. Salinger; The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich--Robert Shirer
