The Part Time Punks

We Are The Part Time Punks... We Hate Your Band!

About Me

Visit the Official Part Time Punks Website
Driven by their love of raw back to basics rock music, new and old, the first incarnation of this Telford-based punk band was formed in February 2005 by guitarist Vinny Whyte and drummer Ben Newell under the name “The Lost Asses”. After exits from the other members, and the entrance of Dev Rox on vocals and Gregg Hudson on bass, the Lost Asses soon morphed into “The Part Time Punks”.
On May 9th 2006, PTP made their official debut at The Broadway in Norton Stourbridge and regular supports with the tribute band “Punk’d: The Spirit of ‘77” followed shortly afterwards. Momentum was building!
On July 14th, the Punks headlined the Shifnal Summer Music Festival, sharing the stage with fellow local bands Synapse, GI Jellybaby, Dead Pleasures, Ethergy and the notorious Uncle Shagnasty. All money made from this event was donated to charity and the Punks also used to this night to prove they were gradually becoming both a tight and visually exciting live band and were even boasting a small and loyal following of teenagers by this point!
In October, they competed in The Robin 2’s “Live Band of the Year Competition” in which they made the quarterfinals and played what were unquestionably some of their best live shows yet.
With their dynamic stage presence, somewhat off-colour humour, high-energy performances and tight stripped down raw songs rarely running over three minutes, the PTPs are undoubtedly an up and coming band who refuse to go unnoticed! ____________________________________________________________ __________________________________________

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:
Dev - Lead Vocals

Fronting the Part Time Punks with his dynamic stage presence and an arrogant stare strong enough to turn your milk sour, Dev provides the oi's and chants that have become almost essential to the bands sound!

Gregg - Bass/Vocals

Don't you just hate bass players? Why are they always the cool and good looking one? Makes you sick, doesn't it! With no shortage of either of the above, Gregg keeps the Part Time Punks thundering along with his tight bass lines, great showmanship and ever present female fan club!

Vin - Guitar/Vocals

Musical virtuoso, talented, good looking... What more do you need? Vin provides that sonic wall-of-sound that makes the Part Time Punks so irresistably mosh-worthy. It's quite amazing just how much noise can be made with a Fender Telecaster!

Ben - Drums

Keeping up the rear, and providing a rock steady beat that's both infectious and impossible to ignore! Don't be fooled... This guy hits HARD!

Influences: The Ramones, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Specials, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dead Kennedys, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Sham 69, The Pogues, Adam & The Ants, Kaiser Chiefs, The Stranglers, The Jam, The Who and many more...
Sounds Like: The Part Time Punks, (and a few obvious influences!)
