About Me

"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." - John Adams
"I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition (Christianity) one redeeming feature. They are all alike, founded upon fables and mythologies." - Thomas Jefferson
"I do not want church groups controlling the schools of our country." - Eleanor Roosevelt
"Beliefs are what divide people. Doubt unites them." - Peter Ustinov
“Love and commitment is not exactly in surplus in this country. The main tragedy, what undermines marriage, is divorce.” - Ralph Nader
“Whenever the people are for gay marriage or medical marijuana or assisted suicide, suddenly the "will of the people" goes out the window.” - Bill Maher
"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision." - Lynn Lavner
"Homosexuality is god's way of insuring that the truly gifted aren't burdened with children." - Sam Austin
"War. Rape. Murder. Poverty. Equal rights for gays. Guess which one the Southern Baptist Convention is protesting?" - The Value of Families
"The plague of mankind is the fear and rejection of diversity: monotheism, monarchy, monogamy and, in our age, monomedicine. The belief that there is only one right way to live, only one right way to regulate religious, political, sexual, medical affairs is the root cause of the greatest threat to man: members of his own species, bent on ensuring his salvation, security, and sanity." - Thomas Szasz

Teaching alternative ideas to evolution in school goes against science. At least evoluion has followed the SCIENTIFIC method. My brother showed me a website that best disscusses the issue. Remember this is science class.

Heroes:

The thing is I am a veterinary technician. I love animals and have been torn as to what I think about animal testing. I have recently stumbled across a very interesting take on the subject. One of the doctors at my practice had this information. It makes complete sense to me for two reasons 1) I am a vet tech and we do all sorts of procedures (surgeries, blood tests, ect..) all of which would not be possible without the testing. and, 2) I love animals and want them to have all of the courtesies we give ourselves extended to them.
This is Buddy, Pookie, Maggie, and Lucy. Buddy, the bulldog, has had heart surgery. Pookie, the cat, is living with diabetes. Maggie, the golden retriever, is a breast cancer survivor. Lucy, the cat, has had a kidney transplant. All of these animals were saved by animal testing."For years treatment options for sick pets were limited. Sometimes euthanasia was the only real choice. Today, however, they can live long happy lives. That's because animal research has resulted in medical advances for people and pets."
