About Me

I have a Masters degree that I will probably never use. I love to write in my thousands of journals that I have - some are so beautiful, I don't even want to write in them. I write food articles for fun. I miss the ocean. I have a saltwater fish tank because I am not close enough to it yet. I want to be successful doing something I love. I don't understand the point of suffering through a day, doing something you don't love just to have a ton of money. I want to enjoy life. I want to travel. I want to eat extravagant food and meet extravagant people. I want to be able to enjoy the beautiful people in my life, anytime of the day. Like my wonderful boyfriend who challenges my brain and excites me everyday of my life. I want to make a difference in the lives of people. I do not want fame or fortune - just want to be recognized as someone who changed a life -- or thirty. I do not know what I want to be when I grow up but I know that I do not want to grow up. I am a lover of all things. Music, writing, food, art, nature, love, life...you name it. I want to write a book. I want to be a food critique and a travel writer. I want to be a singer. I want to teach people who can not read how to read. I want to end racism. I want our world to be a happy place to live in. I have a lot to do. Get Your Own! | View Slideshow

My Interests

FOOD....I love all kinds of food. And not only do I love eating it, but I love making it, learning about it, smelling it, touching it! LOL...I'm a foodie to the bone, I can't help it. At four years old I was eating things like sushi, raw oysters, kolrabi, Indian and Thai food, artichokes, popadoms (I doubt I spelled that right, but they are Indian tortillas that crisp up like potato chips with twice the flavor). I also love to design brochures, newsletters, band/music posters, flyers, etc. Photography excites the hell out of me as well. I'm also a writer and write advertising copy, website copy, marketing materials, and my biggest accomplishment so far has been a script I wrote for the Gospel Grammy Awards where I actually wrote words that Angela Bassett spoke! I LOVE the Steelers!! Goooo Steelers! And I love meeting creative people. Photographers, musicians, artists, writers, acrobats, fire breathers, acupuncturists, lion tamers...the whole lot of them impress the hell out of me and I want to know who each and every one of you are.

I'd like to meet:

Martin Luther King, Gregg Allman, Abe Lincoln, JFK, Bob Dylan, Edgar Allen Poe, anyone in a mental hospital, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Elvis, Mick Jagger, Lane Staley, the list is endless...I want to meet a lot of people.I DON'T want to meet any of the MySpace skanks who use this site to promote their breasts, their awful music, their hair extensions, or their Playboy photo spreads. NOR do I want racists, WWF fans, or George Bush invading MySpace. If you're not one of these types, I'd love to get to know you and learn what you're about.Cheers!

Music:

I can fall in love with anything and everything. My musical tastes range from Joni Mitchell to Eminem to White Zombie. Some of my favorites are Dr. John, Leon Russell, Bobby Dylan, G-Love, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Modest Mouse, The Roots, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Phish, Blind Melon, Coldplay, John Legend, Professor Longhair, Dave Matthews, Alison Krauss, The Gamble Brothers Band, Craig Schuster, MMW, Moe, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, The Beatles, Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Joe Cocker, 2 Live Crew, Indigo Girls, I could go on and on and on and on....and I think I will....Jill Scott, Nirvana, James Brown, DumpstaPhunk, The Allman Brothers (I was named after them...and rightfully so...what a happy song Jessica is), Tom Petty, BB King, Muddy Waters, Mark Knopfler, Rolling Stones (man I can't believe I forgot them earlier), The Who, Paul Simon, Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians, Natalie Merchant, Tracy Chapman (love that woman).

Movies:

Ok...here's goes. The Neverending Story, The Princess Bride, Willow, The Lost Boys, Steel Magnolias, The Doors, The Dark Crystal, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hustle & Flow (representin' M-town), Shortcuts, all the Harry Potter movies, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Amongst Friends (good one), Clockwork Orange, E.T., the TV version of Alice in Wonderland with the allstar cast...awesome, Natural Born Killers (most likely my all-time favorite), Reservoir Dogs, Pretty Woman (just for the breakfast scene), The Breakfast Club (just for the lunch scene), Poltergeist (just for the dinner scene). All the Bray Snot Projects. That's all I can think of for now...there are a few that I can't remember the names to, so I'm stopping there.

Books:

The Stand, All That Remains, The Catcher in the Rye (even though I still haven't finished it), all Harry Potter books, Thinner, Smoke Jumper, Steal This Book, The Last Juror, Rose Madder, Webster's Dictionary, Roget's Thesaurus, The Bluest Eye, Sula, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Hearts in Atlantis, man...I'm having trouble thinking of all the books I've read....I love scary books and mysteries and of course a good love story never hurt anyone.

Heroes:

My wonderful mother...and wonderful boyfriend.
