In da F.O.G.

Birthday 6 Oct...i remember when I turned 21, now I'm a grown a$$ woman!

About Me

"To Whom much is given, much is expected""The unexamined life is not worth living (Socrates)" but "the examined life is painful (Malcolm X)""you can't love my people if you won't lead my people. You can't lead my people if you won't serve my people!""Understand that there is nothing more significant in life than becoming your whole self." Susan Taylor..

My Interests

Trying to understand and know myself via God, trying to finally have enough self-discipline to live my best life, making new allies and friends, traveling...taking advantage of community focused opportunity (under the bridge ministry, habitat for humanity, mentoring, etc.) Reading, movies and last but not least wine!!! it makes me so happy...

I'd like to meet:

(1) God so He can tell me if I have any chance whatsoever to skip out on the whole Hell tour and (2)If they exist in San Antonio, some cool folks who are in constant search of enlightenment

Music:

The thievery company, Mary J.Blige...she's so real, mostly all R&B, Rascal Flatts...who knew I'd get into country music, Jazz and any kind of music that sounds good.

Movies:

"Love Jones"...the most real movie ever; "Yesterday"...AIDS is serious; "Boys don't cry"; "25th Hour" and just recently "Something New"...gave me a whole new perspective on white boys;-)

Television:

Girlfriends, Grey's Anatomy and Will & Grace

Books:

"Life Lessons for my Sisters" & Sister Souljah's "no disrespect"...would help every female understand the difference between "independence" and self-reliance

Heroes:

My sister Cloatee. She's been thru every bad thing this life has to offer and continues to seek God and live the best life she can despite of. Malcolm X for not being afraid to allow critics to see his transformation as a result of wisdom & understanding. Tavis Smiley and Harry Belafonte for making me understand what it truly means to love my people. Finally, Deb & Gav for believing in me when I didn't and providing a real-time example of black love.

My Blog

Seeking your whole self

I read this one sentence poem in the greatest black female magazine ever- Essence and it read: Use time alone to convene with yourself and meet your purpose.  Wow...i can't even count the number...
