Fictional Character

About Me

Woof! This is the Myspace site of 'Dog'. A forty-something male drummer/percussionist.
Dynamic, musical. Swingy/rocky/blues/pop/jazzy/latin(ish). Ongoing gig experience. Masses of influences. Looking for anything interesting or 'theatrical' or 'big'. I'd love to find a semi-pro/professional burlesque-type outfit with great vocals. Not really keen on revisiting the bring-your-own-audience circuit, or playing a 'residency' to one man and his dog at the local watering hole. Everything else considered.I'm currently doing some depping, working with Betty Wallace's new band, and checking out the Burlesque scene - and learning to ride a motorcycle; yes, all at the same time. There are a couple of samples of my stuff here. This track is me playing with Graham Larkbey; it's a sort of pop-rock/bluesy number*: Dog with LarkbeyThis is me live with Tully (the last number at the end of a long night!); it's sort of poppy/jazzy/swingy stuff. You can find more of this stuff here . Dog with Tully / Kit
1970s Rogers, Rock Maple, 24" BD, black. Various Pearl, Ludwig, Premier snares. Mixture of Paiste Signature, Sabian, Sabian HH and early Zildjian brass.* this is a Dog production & mix of the song.

Oh yeah, drums (doh!)

I'd like to meet:

Myself, 20 years ago.
A Burlesque band looking for a drummer.
A 'big' happy, musical ensemble looking for a drummer.
A cool, interesting band playing stuff that people can't resist loving. Myself, again, 30 years ago to warn me about the impending visit.

Music:

Various. Pretty much anything musical that makes people happy and inclined to move their feet. Swing, jazz, blues, pop, rock, rock and roll...Currently Ronnie Magri...

Television:

Got one.

Got a few.

Not as nice as Terry's All Gold. Also anyone with the courage to tell their friends that, despite the supportive applause they get at open-mic nights at the local, they can't sing or play the (insert instrument here) very well at all.
