All kinds of novels, quirky ones if possible (see 'books' for more) the artful quality of films, real music, with a tune, and instruments and singers that sing, so none of that unspeakable emo, or urban pap. There's the box ticking stuff done, I love to laugh, and relax and be silly (though don't get that confused with 'wackiness' - there's nothing in the world more terrible, except maybe war, and even then its close) with people, spend time with people i'm close to, walks, spectacular views, experinces of real life, gigging, writing, occasionally a bit of gymming, ranting about everything, learning about the world and myself, listening to other people, pretending to be a ruuuuudeee boiiii, freaking out the former flat seveners and the lovely Kt by drawing weird, weird things on MSN.
I dunno...Dylan Moran, Michael Stipe, any professional creative people really - writers, directors, that sort of thing. Ooh! There are certain celebs I want to meet if only because I've promised myself to hit them with a spade if I ever do. I'd name them here, but most of them probably have a myspace account, and i'd probably get flamed and murdered in some kind crazy of hiphop shooting, and let's face it, no-one wants that.
oooh, soo many things. In no particular order... R.E.M, David Gray, Savage Garden, Counting Crows, Creed, Nickelback, Hoobastank, Stereophonics, Dave Matthews and his lovely Band, AVIIV Geffen!!!, Eagles, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Incubus, Mogwai, Jose Gonzalez, The Zutons, Rob Dougan, Snow Patrol, The Offspring, Idlewild, Porcupine Tree, Train, Lifehouse, Lionel Richie, Queen, Semisonic, Snow Patrol, Richard Ashcroft, Eels, Opeth, Damien Rice, Vanessa Carlton, James Blunty, Feeder, Thirteen Senses, Longview, Blackfield, Barenaked Ladies, Rage Against the Machine, A Perfect Circle, Buena Vista Social Club, Sister Hazel, Goo Goo Dolls, Death Cab For Cutie, Haven, Frou frou, Aimee Mann, Ben Dlugokecki, Portishead, Massive Attack, A Perfect Circle, Buffseeds, The Calling, Coldplay, Imogen Heap, Zero 7, Easyworld, The Chillis, Staind (sorry :P) Darren Hayes (again, very sorry), ZZ Top, a passing interest in Guns and Roses and Nirvana.
Anything that makes me think, and challenges my perceptions and understandings of the world. Box ticking faves include Fight Club, Magnolia, Memento, Donnie Darko, Indiana Jones, any Charlie Kaufman movies, Brazil, Ben Stiller films, Inside Man, Twelve Monkeys, Aliens, T2, The Fly, Jurassic Park, Garden State, Snatch, Revolver, Star Wars (obviously), Cube, Ghostbusters, Usual Suspects, Apollo 13, James Bond films, Silence of the Lambs, Intacto. I like lighthearted stuff too, Austin Powers, Meet the Parents, any Bill Murray films, stand up comedy (particularly surreal ones) like Harry Hill and Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran and Ross Noble.Anything that has a sense of humour above groin level is fine with me, American Pie films, 'Dude Where's my Car', road trip, boat trip, euro trip can all take a trip off a cliff. Hopefully with Bridget Jones in the passenger seat and Sean William Scott ducktaped to the roof, screaming as he flies, that stupid, chimp faced idiot.
Telly! The ol' box of...erm...telly, i suppose! Hustle, Spooks, Scrubs, Invasion on occasion - that's about it for current tv really. Older faves include bottom, blackadder, the young ones, alan pardridge, black books, this morning with richard not judy, only fools and horses. Big brother is an occasional guilty pleasure, oh, and Lost keeps me up at night with how unfathomably poo it is - 'Oh no, we're 15 beautiful people stuck on an island! Whatever shall we do? Have sex? Yeah, okay!' Oh spare me. Please.
Books! My fave! Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (and anyone who says 'I saw the film' instead of reading the book is gonna get beaten), Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, Keep the Aspidistra Flying, Nineteen-eighty four and Animal Farm by George Orwell, Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges, Edgar Allan Poe's short stories, H.P lovecraft's 'The Call of Chtulu' Philip K Dick - particularly 'The Man in The High Castle', 'White Noise' by Don DeLillo, 'Slaughterhouse 5' and 'Breakfast of Champions' by Kurt Vonnegut, 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte, 'The Trial' by Franz Kafka, 'Jekyll and Hyde' by R.L Stevenson, any Adrian Mole books (I *was* him for years - aside from his Labour leanings :P), Alice In Wonderland, ooh, and Jasper Fforde novels (the Thursday Next ones, anyway).
Superman? Nah, not many really.
