I want, no, I NEED to leave my mark on this world!I love life so everything interests me. I love learning and exploring. I love to travel and experience new things.
Up to now my very favorite place in the world is Las Vegas. EVERYTHING about Las Vegas is addictive! Everyone should go there at least once. Believe it or not, everything that happens there really does stay there.....well, except for those pictures that tend to make their way to the internet occassionally! I like to people watch and meet "different" people. I like long trips that take as long to get there as possible because there are so many things to discover just "on the way" to your destination.
..
****UPDATE****
Unfortunately, this whole love of travel thing has changed for me. In fact, it all kinda' freaks me out now. On August 27, 2006 I lost a dear friend and 4 co-workers on Comair Flight 5191. The video below is a tribute to these people...so have a look and say a lil' prayer
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I like to cook and I love to clean (sounds weird, I know). So much for women's lib, huh? I love words. I love learning them, saying them, and using them to capture the hearts and minds of others! Most of all, however, I enjoy good quality time with my boy. He is my heart, my joy, and my world. HE is love and God put me here to be his mama.
I'd like to meet:
As far as just people in the world go, I'd love to meet Ellen, KA KA KA!!!And then perhaps Hill
but DEFINITELY Uncle BillThe ORIGINAL Harlem Globetrotters (the ones that always guest starred on Scooby Doo)The illustrious Adam SandlerBUT most of all....your momNow when it comes to partners in life and love, that's a whole different story. I'd like to meet a sensitive, caring, hardWORKING, God-fearing, intelligent MAN who's ready to settle down and be just that....cuz I want a MAN, not a BOY who 'thinks' he can.My son and I come as a package deal sooooooo like it or lump it! Any man who wants me MUST love my son and accept us as one. I want a lover and a best friend....someone I can laugh at, um, I mean WITH, every single day of my life.
Buried at PhotoCasket.comI am not just looking for something, I am looking for everything. There is no settling.
I'm through with all the drama and those "give me another chance, baby" kind of men. This being said, don't hurt me 'cause Kharma is a mug!
As far as looks go, I like tall, solid men with dark features, meat on their bones and a strong back. I am an Equal Opportunity Player though and will continue to accept applications until the position has been completely filled....mind, body, and soul. I do, however, reserve the right to terminate employment at my discretion.PEEK-A-BOO! I SEE YOU....
Music:
I like most kinds of music. There's actually no telling what you'll find me listening to at any given moment. From Bluegrass to old school R&B.......I love most everything. My latest fave is Micahel Buble....how come I never knew he existed before last month?! However, you will NEVER see me listening to anything 'death metalish' (do they even still make/play that kind of music anymore?) or eclectic. Other than that I try to keep an open ear.
Movies:
I like sweet, funny, GOOD movies. Among my favorites are:COLD MOUNTAIN; THE GREEN MILE; MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA; FORREST GUMP; TITANIC; FRIED GREEN TOMATOES; STEEL MAGNOLIAS; VANITY FAIR; SET IT OFF; BRINGIN' DOWN THE HOUSE; BORAT; MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING; ELIZABETHTOWN; BAND CAMP; CRUEL INTENTIONS; AMERICAN WEDDING; LITTLE MAN TATE; THE FAMILY STONE
Television:
My very favorite show in the world is NIP/TUCK. In addition to this, I like to watch LOST; DAYS OF OUR LIVES; WILL & GRACE; ER; INTERVENTION; 1 vs 100; FLAVOR OF LOVE; DEAL or NO DEAL; and like any respectable Kentuckian... GO CATS!!!
Books:
I love "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe and "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" by Fannie Flagg. Ya'll need to go ahead and read 'em......I promise you'll love them!I also LOVE books with useless information.....you know, books that give you facts behind everyday kind stuff. My favorites so far are the following: "Do Penguins Have Knees?", "Encyclopedia of Gross Facts", and "Schott's Original Miscellany".
Heroes:
The most influential person in my life, my hero, is my mother. She is the only person in the world that I know, no matter what, I can depend on to come rescue me when needed, love me at all times, and will take me shopping to help mend my broken heart. She was the first person in her family to obtain a college degree and has dedicated her life to her family. She is a single mother who has sacrificed her own happiness for the sake of her children at all costs. Additionally, after raising her own two children by herself, she is currently raising two grandchildren. After retiring from her career, working to enrich the lives of the under-priveldged and uneducated throughout Eastern Kentucky, she began yet another career helping to run a successful transcription business. She has sacrificed so much for so long and is truly an inspiration in every sense of the word. Above all, she loves me to the very depths of her heart, believes in me whole-heartedly and will ALWAYS be there for me come what may.
Mrs. Dorothy Lewis is another woman whom I truly see as an inspiration and a hero. I took several English and Literature type classes under her throughout my junior and senior highschool years. She ALWAYS made class worth going to but beyond that she made me want to learn and do well. I have loved and idolized her from day 1 really. Every good highschool memory I have involves this woman. She is the reason that I majored in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English in college (my 8th Major!). I will NEVER, as long as I live, forget this woman and the invaluable lessons she taught me about book knowledge and life. She kept so many secrets for me and helped me get lots of burdens off of my chest just by teaching and encouraging me to write. I always felt like I could be ME around her. She helped me through a very difficult time in my life when noone else even noticed or cared. For this alone, I will be forever in her debt. I am truly blessed having crossed paths with her.~~~~~~~~~~
Another powerful presence in my life is my 'Honey Jackie'. She's like your favorite grandmother only way more fun! This lady has overcome huge obstacles, one of which being cancer, in her life that nobody should ever have to deal with. She is yet another woman who has dedicated her life solely to her family and to helping others. She is strong, compassionate, and one of the most understanding and loving people I know. She has made me laugh when I thought I'd never smile again. She helped me to learn how to just be ME and not worry about the haters that get in my way. She has taught me to look at the bad crap that happens in life and laugh rather than make myself miserable. Her life is an inspiration to everyone who meets her.....especially me.
Officer Bryan Jared of Lex PD is someone whom I a have grown to respect and admire tremendously throughout my years in Lex. He puts his life on the line DAILY for people he doesn't even know just to make sure Lexington is a nicer, safer place to live This is also the man who risked his own life to save the only survivor of Comair Flight 5191. Without regard to his personal safety, this guy, along with two others, saved a man's life and cried as my co-workers and the others tragically lost theirs, desperate and devastated that he couldn't save every last one. For this, he has earned my utmost respect. Wherever you are, COPPER, thank YOU for 'fighting crime, suppressing evil, and maintaining order in our fair city'!~~~~~~~~~~
I also admire all the strong women (whether they know/feel it or not) who have persevered and made changes in this whacked~out world we live in. Let us ALL continue to make a stand and take back what has been ours from the start......our bodies, our minds and our hearts. WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can. ~J. Wesley
